Recall notice

I just got a recall letter from BRP today.

It's about the old bad gas caps pre-2012.
It says their records indicate that I do not have the new gas cap on my Spyder which in fact I do. So the dealer did not update my records
FYI I bought mine used so the cap was done when the previous owner had the Spyder.

While I thank BRP for sending me a letter to make sure I have it, I guess I have to call them so they can update my records.

Interesting, I received a call
from BRP about a month ago
asking if I had in fact received
and installed my gas cap, I
told them I watched Lamonsters
video on the install and it went
off/on without a hitch....


...could be they are being overly cautious.

I still receive a recall notice on a 2006
GM car I owned. I notified them but
they must still have money in the budget
for postage and stationery
to re -remind me about once a year.
Sold the car in 2009 to
buy my RT. :yes: The car is in Dubai,
didn't get a forwarding address.

The NHTSA did not like the way BRP handled the recall in 2013. They didn't feel that mailing the caps to the owners was the best way to do it. I'd imagine that this letter has something to do with the investigation.

The notice does not say they are shipping you a cap. It tells you to go to your dealer and have it inspected.

Oops! I was referring to the communication. Last one came with the cap. I had no problem nor many others. I changed the cap some shelf it. Just got the letter checked and good to go...
