• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear Tire Wear

Just returned from Spyder Fest. Have 7,000 miles on my 2016 RT-S. Rear tire is down to the wear bars in the center and can see the colored stripes. What tire is recommended as a replacement? Or what are others running? NOT HAPPY with the OEM tire!!!

KENDA

the KENDA tires most likely use the same compound rubber as 2 wheelers use, hense: the grip but don't last long....
there are hundreds of threats on this website that talk about tires, do a search...
i have used 5 KUMHO AST out back and now i'm spinning a MICHELIN HYDRO-EDGE (215/60R15) and love it....
up front i'm spinning HANKOOKS and love those....
your call, good luck....

My first Rear Kenda lasted 7,800 miles and next one lasted 11,000 miles. I let them get down to about 1/16 inch of tread left, but you must be extremely careful in the rain. I stay off the interstate in the rain for sure with any tire with very thin tread.

Interesting....🤔

i have always had good results with the Kenda on my spyder. But you will find no end to information here on all the car tires you can fit on your ryde. Unfortunately there is no list of just tires or a chart with reviews. So if you read you will need a weekend off for reading...:roflblack:

Heavier bike faster wear I believe too. Plus the tire compound makes a difference on wear.

Good luck on what you pick next as there are many suggestions on this forum.

Dan, what model Spyder do you have? I have an f3t and was wondering if I needed to make any modifications for that size tire?

We stock and install quality Yokohama tires front and rear for the Spyders. We prefer not to offer the third tier chinese brand tires.

That is what happens when a too soft center of a compound is used. My dealer replaced my Kenda very early due to an agreement at time of sale, with the slightly harder compound Kenda which was just released. It is suppose to last longer. So, some guys and gals try to stretch the life past the intended safety margin due to BRP'S bad decision, causing a greater risk of traction loss. These tires are overpriced POS.

What is most ironic, I had to sign a waiver stating the new compound had less traction and might even mess with the nanny's. Total BS....
