Rear Tire Size

Does anyone have a solid idea on how wide/tall of a rear tire
can be safely installed on a F3S. Moving the rear fender up/out
seems simple enough. I would like to have more rubber on the
ground all the way round if possible and would like to keep the
nanny happy. My little pea brain must be working overtime.

But would ask why..?? in my opinion it will not help unless it is for the looks. It will add to the stress on many parts especially front end...jmo..:thumbup:

:agree: with Chewy above......and you are :bdh:with this idea.....The real limiting factor is going to be the SWINGARM ... you might be able to get 235/45-15 tire in there .....but it begs the question ....WHY BOTHER....the difference in performance will not be measurable, it may even be less because it may not be a great tire.....Even visually you won't be able to tell the difference unless you are looking at the sidewall specs.....................Mike :thumbup:

The belt is only about 1/4" from the widest part of the tire, your not going to stuff much more in there width wise.

It's just a matter of having a new swing arm made and the new adapter for the front drive then trimming back a little on the body work, having a belt guard fabricated and you'll have a bigger tire. You'll be out about $7500 but it'll look cool. But yes I'd have to say why myself.

:agree: with Gene and Mike: in the bike's stock configuration; you've got what you're gonna get.
If you want to spend cubic dollars on swingarms, and chain-drive conversions: the sky is the limit.

Like I stated, my Pea brain must be working overtime. I am not necessary
set on wider but taller would do if I could not upset the nanny. I am looking
for a little more traction/gear reduction if possible. Cubic money I am not
willing to spend. Spinning the rear tire is a real problem and it could be that I
just need to ditch the Kendra and find a better tire.

.....In my research of TIRES ....the General Altimax RT43 has the best performance in 6 categories of currently available tires that will fit the Spyder......215/60-15 .....People here who have this tire seem to agree with this assessment..........good luck........Mike :thumbup:
