Rear tire removal

Have a 2014 ST Limited anyone have a video on rear tire removal? How easy or hard is it? I end up getting shop manual download just wanted to see a video of it. Thanks!

Sometimes you can just go direct to youtube and find all the videos on repairs there....:thumbup: The search here is tricky and if you google you can find them easier.

There is one video that an Australian rider did. Do not touch the axle adjusters. Lift rear, then lift rear wheel to release shock pressure then remove lower shock mount bolt. Lower rear wheel so belt is loose and remove it then the wheel can come out easy.

The rear brake is also the parking brake. Chock bike so it doesn't roll, Turn bike on, release parking brake and turn bike off. You will get beeping for about 20-30 seconds. DO NOT ACTIVATE THE PARKING BRAKE UNTIL BACK ON THE ROTOR! If you find the brake pads have closed it will require screwing the piston to get it to retract back into the caliper. The service manual is wrong.

I didnt remove shock bolt tho. When i removed axle just push wheel forward and rolled belt off....if u clean the axle good...and apply a little grease...much easier to slide back in..

Indeed. :agree: It's a good thing to recognise one's limitations before one actually discovers them the hard way. Being confident and/or cautious is not the same as being capable.
