• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear Tire and Dyna Beads

My OEM tire was showing its' age after 20,000 kms (12,500 miles) so I decided to search out an alternative tire for the RT. Ordered a G-force originally, but found out that they were no longer available in my neck of the woods. Finally settled on a Toyo Proxes 4 (225 50R-15) car tire as a direct size replacement for the OEM RT tire.

Since my new, warrantied muffler was in at the dealership (the original muffler had developed an internal crack and it was beginning to sound like a sewing machine on steroids), it made sense to have them do the install of the tire at the same time as they replaced my muffler. We poured in 3 ounces of Dyna Beads into the tire rather than sending it out for "traditional" balancing at an auto shop.

The new tire performed well with no balancing issues on my initial two hour ride back from the dealership. I will however reserve final judgement on the ultimate performance of the tire and Dyna Beads until after I have had the opportunity to take it out for a more spirited run, without the trailer in tow.

FYI: I might be the only one but I had trouble with the beads getting stuck in the stems and causing leaks. I gave up on them. You are getting much better mileage out of rear tires than I am. I am interested to see how you like the Toyo tire.

Sorry to hear about your experience with the dyna beads. I installed the dyna beads while they were doing the tire switch over rather than load them through the valve stem. So far the Toyo is running very smoothly and my wife told me it was a tad smoother than the OEM. Of course that sensation may be simply because it has more thread between the bike and the road. If I run into any issues with the tire I will be sure to post.

We put Dyna Beads in my husbands Harley and it was kind of a PITA. It took a long time to get all the beads in but that being said he likes them and has always used them in his bikes. I just put Ride-on in all my tires including the trailer and the install was much, much easier than the Dyna Beads and I really like the ride.
