• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

rear tire air pressure

I have a 2013 and it has the worn stock tire. How do you tell if there is a better stock tire...is there a date code or some other identification?

I agree with Ann I have a 2014 RT and the stock tire wore out at 5800 miles and had the softer compound. IF you decide to go back to stock make sure they put a newer model year stock tire back on. You will get more miles on the tire.

Some of us prefer going to the dark side and put on a car tire on the Spyder.:roflblack:

This should help you when you buy a new tire.

They changed the compound on the tire sometime 13/14 I am guessing before everyone complained then went back on the compound from what I have read.

Like I said mine lasted 5800 and worn in the middle too. My PSI was set per the manual.

The last Kenda tire on the rear of my bike was taken off a couple of months ago. Just for giggles, I asked the dealer to look at the tire after it was replaced. The tread was 2/3rds gone and when I pressed on the middle of the tire it collapsed like a bicycle tire. For those who think the OEM is just fine, this might be something to think about. Your ride, your a..

Don't listen to the grumpy ones. ;) new riders will always ask the same questions. Since it's the same old Kendas the same old responses are to be expected.

FWIW we run Kendas 18/28psi and have no abnormal wear. Then again, I am use to <6000mi tread life on my sportbike tires, so whatever.

I am betting that the born on date on your rear tire is somewhere around 2713 to 2514 which would make it one of the soft compound tires. BRP ditched that compound and went back to a harder compound but most 14's had the soft ones.

Like the others said your tire is done - nothing will save it now - so get a new one. Changing tire pressure will not help.
I agree with Ann. We had a tire made earlier on our RT and it lasted 17000 miles. We had a later edition Kenda on the F3L and it lasted 19000 miles. On the RT we rode mostly 2 up. On the F3L we ryde solo. We ran 28 in the Kendas. We now have Kumho rears on both and run them at 19 psi.

Or y'all can just ignore us and our repetitive questions :roflblack:
Absolutely not. Your questions are welcome here. We all had the same questions when we first got on this site. That is one of the major reasons this site exists. Please excuse the poor manners of some of the more more rude members on this forum. Or you can just add them to your ignore list. Keep your questions coming.

Please excuse the poor manners of some of the more more rude members on this forum.

Give it a rest, please.

It is NOT RUDE to politely suggest that a new member might get more information and help if he/she would make use of the search function and/or read back through some of the earlier discussions about issues of a similar nature.

What IS rude and shows poor manners is throwing insults at members who are trying to help in what they think is the best way possible.
