• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear shock adjustment gone wrong, now what?

While adjusting my shock, I though I had one more level to go...but no....it snapped to the lowest setting. Clunk!!

The socket flange is now around the back side of the shock and the swingarm is too close for it to keep going around.

Now what??

Yeah. Now, I have my shop manual on order.

If I raise the rear wheel, and remove the top bolt, will the wheel drop and allow the shock to fall out?? If done that way, what will the spring tension be like?? Should I wear a helmet? Is the procedure to loosen the top bolt with the wheel on the ground, raise it slowly until the shock is extended far enough to remove?

Loosen top bolt.
Raise bike at center frame until bolt wiggles
Remove bolt
Raise bike until shock falls out
Adjust as necessary
Replace shock in top mount
Reverse removal procedure.
