• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear mud flap rubbing & melting!

250 miles from home and a buddy notices my mud flap rubbing and melting. 300 miles on it. Likely going to cut it off and let dealer replace. 😞

your brand new S to S???? wow!!! i would bet your air bag is NOT working, another thing for your dealer. or air ride adjustment is off

There also appears to be a fitment issue between the mud flap and upper fender by looking at the gap, and between the right and left sides. Cause or effect? Hard to tell by the photo.

Who changed your rear tire? Is that the original Kenda, looks to be a General, who ever changed that tire should have seen the potential problem! My 2 cents. Bill

We had exactly the same problem after an air bag collapse. Usual symptom is an extremely harsh ride where you can feel every little bump. Think old-time Harley before they grew springs.

Funny this should come up. I went on a charity ride for Pediatic Brain Tumors yesterday and noticed my rear flap on my 2021 RTL looking the same. Not sure how it came down. I am thinking about checking to see how much room is behind the flap and the tire. I might use a plastic screw and nut to go through the middle to hold it in place. If I can do it from the inside and then trim the end, it should give me better clearance and piece of mind.

Same thing on my new 2024 RT....
I recently found on my 2020 RT base that the rear mud flap was loose....I remember hearing a noise when going over a speed bump in a neighborhood a few days ago, but thought nothing of it. I cut off the lower 3+inches of the flap since it was damaged, and hope I have no more issues with it hitting things. Since I don't have an enclosed garage, I'm waiting for warm weather to reinstall the flap.

  • OEM top case

  • creeping over speed bump

What size tire do you have, did you put a car tire on and oversize it?

Thanks. The rear tire is Vredestein 205/60R 15... so, a little narrower and a little higher profile.
For what it's worth, the mud flap got knocked loose and damaged by a speed bump.

I've also been pondering cutting off the lower 3" at the cut line. Still plenty of rear protection.
