• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I just purchase a trunk rack for my Spyder Rt and was curious what people are using for luggage on this rack. What size, brand etc...

The rear trunk has a max recommended weight load of 20 lbs ( I have put quite a bit more )…. Be careful the load on the rack + what's in the trunk doesn't go to far above BRP's recommendation ………………. Mike

I think most folks who have this rack, including my wife, just strap miscellaneous items to it when they don't fit in the side bags or frunk. I haven't heard about anyone using specific motorcycle luggage on the rack, but it makes sense. As Mike says, try not to exceed 20# (including the rack), or you will exceed the OEM specs AND make it very difficult to open the trunk!

I use the Rally Pack. I has a large pack and a smaller roll pack and they can be used alone or together. Both have straps that will hold the securely to the bike. I also have trunk pack(don't know what the real name is) That is made by Hopnel for Gold wings for years. I have had this one since the mid 1990s and it still works well. I put my rain gear in it when I am traveling alone. It is a Brown color and matches my 2012 well. Hopnel used to make them in all sorts of colors but I think they only come in black now. They come with a rain cover. They also have 2 pockets in the front that are nice for putting sunglasses or sunscreen or other small things in.

Thanks for all your replies. I will probably get a med sized luggage/bag to use for light items such as rain gear, extra gloves etc... I will definitely watch out not to exceed the 20lb weight load.

Question. Since I ride solo on an RT at the moment, is anything made to go in the passenger seat?

I also own an RT( 2014RTS-SE6) and I also ride solo. What I do is I use 2 duffle bags ( medium size) stack them on top of each other, and use buggies cords to strap them down. I hook the buggies cords to passenger hand grips. These do not move. When I travel with the duffle bags the routes that I taken have some very sharp corners. ( like the tail of the dragon corners). But I am in Vermont.

Sorry no pictures, at this time, spyder is hibernation.

Hope this helps.

I don't use any rear racks.

Thanks Deanna, that’s great info. Like you I don’t want to put on a rack

Check out "Lamonster Garage" on the home page banner. He has bags for the rack as well as for the back seat. Several choices. Fit well and I like them.

We got a Coleman waterproof (?) bag that Is compressible and kind of clear primarily to keep rain gear or things we might need in a hurry.

I have an Iron Rider bag I use for my overnight bag on my rear rack. Overall I'm satisfied but I would look closer at a rain proof bag. Mine came with a cover but in a heavy rain my clothes were still wet.

I have had a Kurayakn bag on my GW and the same bag fits the rack on the RT perfect. Thus bag has 2 side compartments that you can get to easy and it has a rain fly that stores in a built in pouch.I use a small scale to check the loaded weight and usually keep it under 18 lbs.
