• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear fender question.....again

Another awesome design

I saw this and immediately started to like this look the best of all of them.

That is pretty slick

Love where that plate is on that one. I would do something like that. Anyone know the best way to relocate the harness to the under tail?

The harness that was originally on the rear fender leading to the license plate light actually originates from under the rear plastic tail pan above the rear tire.

There is the long plastic hold down strip and a few zip ties along the right side of the swing arm. That's it.

i love the look of the zx-14 fender. now does the stock light harness have to be cut or changed?

The only thing I cut was the wires to the license plate light; you could probably use the ZX14 LP light, but I bought one of those 12 LED strips that can be trimmed down to 6 or 3 LEDs (I used 3). I connected the stock LP light wires to the LED wires and stuck the LED strip (comes with adhesive tape on the back of it) to the underside of the ZX14 LP light. I used a cheapo Wallyworld rubber floor mat to widen the ZX14 fender to keep road spray off my back (attached it to the ZX14 fender with pop rivets and zip ties---looks a bit Frankenstein but it gets the job done).

For the zx14 license plate light I used the stock zx14 housing but replaced the incandescent bulb with an ebay LED replacement bulb. Works great.

Doesn't throw any codes or dummy lights with the switch from regular bulb to led? Having 1000 miles I'm good with a code problem.

when I get back from vacation I might
pull back that light snip the end replace it with an led.
remove the fender
put a piece metal in the tail to mount two "L" brackets to and put the plate on those brackets?
only thing I might have to be carful about is the wife on the back and the plate hitting the tyre. How about that?

Best option right here! Cost: FREE! Unless you want to buy a light for it which is less than $5. I just took the plate, stock bolts, pre drilles holes and bolted it in. The light which you can kind of see right above the plate I got on ebay as a pair for I believe $3 free shipping. Pulled the stock harness back and did a quick disconnect from that harness to the new light.
