• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

REAR BRAKES 2012 RT LIMITED...ISSUES

2012 RT Limited Rear Brake Pads, As I was replacing my rear Pads, I can not get the back bolt back in, I was not able to get the nut loose that holds the spool on that the brake cable runs on...The brake fault light blinks.

I used a ratchet to attempt to loosen nut and was not able to do....If I could get spool to move just a small amount I would be able to get bolt in...

While I was working on this I noticed my muffler was just hanging, the rubber groument had come through the frame...somebody had put the fender washer on the wrong side of the frame...Also noticed shop had left several screws and body fasteners off

Any suggestions on how to get that nut loose on the brake cable spool...do I need to use a cheater on the ratchet or will I brake something...

2012 brakes

Hi! Use a socket that fits and a breaker bar. It is a nylock stopnut. It will come loose. Once it is, remove the cable pulley and spring. Now the brake pad bolts are easy to get to. Remove the clips on the brake pad bolts and discard. remove the bolts and discard. remove the pads. Swing the caliper down and away, and remove the parking brake rubber boot. place a large socket over the parking brake shaft, and then a C clamp over that to compress the brake caliper piston. Compress the piston until it is flush with the caliper housing. Clean with brake cleaner before compressing - a little dirt can keep the piston from going in all the way. Drop in the new pads, put the caliper back on.
