• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Rear air bag problems

RT-S PE#0180
I might just be clear out in left feild but something concerning the reported air bag problems just caught my attention. A couple of months ago, when replacing the rear tire on my RT-S, I experienced a problem with my air bag. After I had finished the replacement of the rear tire, I took the Rt for a test ride and found the ride to be very harsh. After further examination, I found the bracket on the left side on the RT that supports the ride height sensor, to be bent down. This caused the Rt to over inflate the air bag in an effort to acheive the propper ride height. Because the bracket was bent enough, the RT was not able to acheive the propper height and the air bag was pressurized to max. I think, if left alone, this would of resulted in a bag rupture. I corrected my problem by mearly bending the bracket back to it's normal position. Like I said, this may be way out in left feild but it's worth checking. I'm writting this because of all the problems Dwight has experienced with his and knowing that he has even more miles on his than I do on mine (12.5K), I'm sure his rear tire has been changed at least once. My bracket bent when I jacked up the rear of my RT with the shock absorber disconnected. The downward force applied due to the weight of the rear being unsupported, pulled the bracket down. Dummy me, I now know to disconnect the link arm on the ride height sensor prior to doing this next time.

You're not in left field Frank. That is exactly what happened to a number of the first RT's. BRP didn't get the word out quick enough and some of them were damaged during setup. This isn't the problem with mine, and yes I have had the rear tire changed. Mine just won't hold air. I talked to my dealer Wednesday and they were going to remove the whole air system and bench test it to see if they could locate the air leak. It is still losing 20 - 30 psi overnight. I emailed Carlo and he called me back and has been in touch with the dealer. It appears that BRP is now working closely with the dealer to correct this problem. That begs the question, why does it take a call to Carlo from the owner to get BRP more involved? Even the service manager called me to thank me for calling BRP. What's up with that? Anyway, hopefully they will now be able to get me back on the road. Thanks for you concern Frank, I appreciate it.

Make sure that they check the 90° fitting on the top of the bag. I had to finally remove, and submerge mine to find the leak. It turned out to be a faulty fitting that hadn't been silver soldered completely.

Yep, that was one of the first things they replaced on mine. Could be that again though. I doubt that we will know, it sounds like they are gonna replace the whole system.

Dwight, Mine leaked from the getgo. When I took it back to the dealer for the 600 mile inspection, they did a superficial inspection and told me that there was a maintenance directive to change the fitting from a 45° fitting, to a 90° fitting and that they would order one.
When I went up to SITS, I stopped at a dealer in Tn. and he replaced the bag and the fitting. It continued to leak throughout the trip and when I got home I decided to have a look for myself. This is when I discovered that the "new" fitting was leaking as a result of the bad silver soldering. This sort of suggests that BRP had a batch of bad fittings.
