There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ready to leave Harley

It sounds like the group of people you were riding with are not who anyone would want to run with. i cannot imagine what their combined IQ is. I cannot imagine having a good time with any group like that -- ever.

However, bashing goes on here too. It happens anywhere and in many different groups. You might not need to change your ride just because of that, but rather change who you ride with.

I go to the HD museum once in a while and you'll see Spyders there often -- and no one is bashing them there. I ride mine to HD dealers all the time and never have had a bad word said. If I did I wouldn't let it bother me.

PS: I also wave to Spyders when I ride my Ultra; which might surprise some I ride with, but no one dare better say anything.

I have no room to bash any brand, i own one of each:D

I was Director of the Southern Nevada HOG (Las Vegas) in 2013.
The people were and remain great friends.

In Feb, I got rid of the harley and replaced with a 2014 RT-S.

Not because of the people but because of dealerships that think they are the only game in town - WRONG.
The wife wanted to ride and wanted a Trike, so here I am. :)

As for SNHOG, I continue to go to meetings and they could care less WHAT I ride.
At our last Meet & Greet, they all wanted the $0.25 tour!

Sorry, to hear your HOG group has their heads shoved way up their . . . . .! ;)

I've been apart of numerous Harley groups for years. In down to my last Harley group. I have left all the others behind because of their attitude towards people that don't ride Harley's. I'm sick and tired of the Harley mentality. Most of them think they are the best of the best because they ride Harley's. I own a Harley street glide. It's a nice bike but it's just a bike. I'm looking to get out of it and go back to a Spyder mainly because of my severe arthritis. I'm also wanting to get back on a Spyder because I love the Spyder community. The people that I know and have ran into, are the nicest group of riders I've ever met. I give respect to anyone that rides anything. Doesn't matter if your riding a scooter or a Spyder, two wheels or three. We are all pretty much doing the same thing. We enjoy riding and feeling the freedom of the open road. I've defended Spyders and even Slingshots so many times this last month,it's ridiculous. Now I have guys in this Harley group publicly bashing Spyders at motorcycle events. That's unacceptable. A few Spyder riders showed up to an event to honor riders and were bashed and told they couldn't park with the other bikes and had to ride in the back. Excuse me?? That's not how this works and I had a few choice words with some of the people doing it. Sorry for the rant.

I have both a spyder and a harley. I could care less what anyone thinks or says about me or what I choose to ride. I prefer to ride alone or with only a few friends.
I actually avoid big group rides because I despise slow rides, parades, and people I don't know riding close to me. Also, When I do commit to a larger group ride I prefer to be in the back. Never know when I might take an unplanned turn and break away from the group and do my own ride.
I guess I ride for me, and only me.

i have been riding from the age of 6 with my first c50 love that bike my dad always instilled in me no matter what it's not the bike but the rider you respect i feel a lot of Harley riders need to learn this when they grow up

Trikes in the back

This is common procedure --- when I ride with the Patriot Guard Riders, ALL trikes are in the back. Motorcycles can run two abreast - not trikes. Harley, Honda and Spider trikes are all to the rear. Not a negative to the trikes, just a safety thing.

This past Memorial Day we had an event and I got there early to take care of a few things. Within about an hour or so the HD's started to roll in. Legion Riders, Nam Knights etc. Mostly HDs and a few other 2 and 3 wheelers thrown in for good measure. Not on negative comment on my Spyder, if anything just like any other place anyone with a :spyder2: goes nothing but people coming up and saying how much they liked it. A few even mentioned that they were thinking of coming over the the Dark side:ani29::ani29::roflblack::roflblack:..

I even got a few invites for a few runs. Good people all of them.....

I think I have had only one negative comment about the :spyder2: everything else and the people have been great.

Me as well, the Spyder and the Sporty. I tend to ride alone or in small groups.

Only time I will ride with a large group is with the Warriors Watch Riders. Same policy as the PGR. Two wheels, three wheels, four wheels (by height). The two wheels ride staggered for extra safety and to let LEO know we are not a three patch MC.

I like the back of a pack. You can see trouble further down the road. If I take the Harley I tend to be a road guard so I am on my own anyway.

I'm not debating procedure for group rides. And I understand a lil joking with all groups. The people I'm talking about are not joking. They are hateful individuals and think they are gods when it comes to motorcycles. After a little bit of arguing and it was a pretty heated argument,I grabbed the people that weren't comfortable riding with these idiots and went to do our own thing. We are all adults out enjoying our time riding. Some people try to ruin it just because others weren't on Harley's. I'll be damned if I'm gonna stand by while these people are treating others like crap.

I gave up my Harley last week and am glad I made the right decision. I loved my Harley, but am one that does what I think is best. I ride mostly by myself because I just don't fit in with the HOG club. Bunch of nice folks, but I enjoy the ride more than the image. I am happy I made the change.

I hear ya, but your talking about a few individuals. Why would you care what anyone thought or said. Really, for a few idiots I just shut up and ride on.....I wouldn't let that influence what I chose to ride.

I totally understand. I have run into a few of these types. Lucky for me, I always happened to be with my friends on Harleys and I ended up being the guy holding them back.

That statement speaks volumes about you. Most people would look away or not get involved or nervously laugh along with the bullies. You, my friend, are a bit like me. I can't abide people who try to make themselves feel superior at the expense of others. You're a damn good human Bobby. if you ever find yourself in Southeastern PA, the beers are on me.

Midnightbreeze here , I'm the same way , most of my riding is alone , if I want to go slow I can , but most of the time I dont let any grass grow under mine, the largest group I have ever ridden in is 3 Bikes , including mine, the way I feel about other bikers is they r havin as much fun as I am, If they like my ride fine , If they dont its still fine , I'm havin fun,:yes::yes:

Midnightbreeze , still Lovin my Spyder , 2013 RT, Now with SCOOPS, EEEHHHAAA!!!!

The wife and I don't get worked over what brand or how many wheels. Idiots ride all makes and models. We often ride our own ride. We have ridden with another local Spyder couple and had a lot of fun with them.

As for the Harleys or Sport Bikes, yes, they often seem to turn up a nose at the Spyder. We attended the local Cycle Gear bike night recently and a guy arrived on a Honda NSR 250 with Rothmans Bodywork. When I first started to talk with him he turned me off. Sadly, later he came around for other reasons. Not on account of the Spyder or that we are all riders, but rather because he learned I am friends with the guy he wants to tune his machine and other moto people I know, and to cap it off, his daughter works with my wife. Ultimately, not a bad person, just difficult.

Our one experience with a larger group ride was a charity ride sponsored by my wifes work. As the ride left the start location, and this was a poker run, we got scooped into a group of Harley riders. We rode as the last machine except for the sweeper. The parading through lights did not bother me or the wife, however their attitude on the road was not cool with us. The lead machines rode like idiots, and in my opinion jeopardized the other riders to the rear. It was as if they expected every other vehicle near them to yield the entire lane or slow to a snail pace to respect the Harleys. The group also had no measurable respect for posted speed limits or speed of the moving traffic.

Being a Poker Run, the first stop was a Tikki Bar, actually, every stop served alcohol. Within a few minutes it was obvious how the day would unfold. The wife and I new the area and the stops, so we did our own ride through quiet horse country and roads less traveled. We had a great time and helped others with our donations. Some attitudes did change, when promoters learned my wife was somewhat involved in the event via her work. The best people we met at the event all were co workers with my wife. They too rode their own groups or as individuals. At the informal banquet / raffle announcements, this moron that was all Harley and into himself started hitting on my wife. Needless to say that did not settle well with me. Before anything happened his wife came to his side, and pretty much told him what an idiot he was. So again, it's people not metal.

As has been mentioned in other posts, is people not a decal that make this sport great.

For us, possibly the most welcoming group has been Goldwing riders. My wife and the wives of the Goldwing owners always enjoy each others company and common sense. They also respect the Spyder and my wifes fear of not being a two wheel girl. Also, many of the Goldwing riders openly admit that they know three wheels is in their future.

When we ride, groups of Harleys seldom wave and most are rude and make a lot of noise. Harleys either one up or two up riding as a bike or two often wave. Sport bikes sometimes do or not. And without doubt, Spyder to Spyder has always gotten the wave.

Harleys and Spyders get alone perfectly fine, i can prove it:D:clap:
