• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Re Spot messenger

I use the spot messenger when traveling out of town. I was wondering where those that carry the same, put theirs when riding. I know it is best on your person since once you have had an accident and find yourself NOT on the bike, it may be impossible to get to it. I some times carry it in my pocket but I seen many bikers carry it mounted on the bike somewhere. I do here it can interfere or be interfered with the existing GPS if placed too close.

Any ideas on the subject?

Spot messenger

I have my Spot mounted on the left side handle bar, my GPS is mounted in the middle between the handle bars just like the Limited Spyder. Have never noticed any problem with the GPS, have had both units mounted this way for almost a year now, Spot anf GPS work just fine mounted this way.

I ride with mine strapped to my right leg. When someone asks what it is, I just say it's my "Ankle Bracelet" so my parole officer can keep track of me.

"Ram" mounts make several kinds of mounts for the Spot Messenger. Go to gpscity.com and search spot messenger and find which model you have. Then click accessories below it and you will see the different mounts available..
