"There's no such thing as bad weather, Just soft people."
Uh-huh....Well Sir, this particular "soft person" remembers in '98, wanting to see my brother in Tucson and riding my HD RoadKing through 500 miles of rain to do so (after stopping the first night in Austin, saw the then TX Governor, later President, officially declare the '98 drought over.....Thanks, I noticed). In '02 after riding an Indian Chief with friends to see the Grand Canyon, this "soft person" needed to return to the fire house. Getting there on time necessitated riding through the remnants of Tropical Storm Fay, from just west of Houston, all the way past Baton Rouge. Or there was the time we caught hail in Wyoming returning from Sturgis, or the time we rode through torrential rain and street flooding around East Palm Beach, FL on the way to Key West (it was on this ride that I was dubbed Chief Blackcloud, due to my riding an Indian Chief and my friends claiming the skies would open every time I came along).
This experience does nothing to change the fact that it is far more pleasurable to ride when it is pleasant then when it is not, and at this point in my life, that is what I ride for....pleasure!
