• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Random thought for the day

And your point is?

I'd rather wear cargo pants than a cross-body bag.

I've been seeing guys wearing those cross-body bags a lot lately and I've been wondering WTF is up with that? They're like a fanny pack with a longer belt that goes around your shoulders. I man purse if you will.

Way back when I was in HS, book bags were just starting to be used. Kinda the precursor of backpacks. Today, everyone walks around with backpacks. I wonder what they keep in them....... The only backpack I ever owned is a Trapper Nelson. Standard Boy Scout equipment. It still hangs on my wall in the work shed. It carried the required 40#s of stuff for the 5-mile hike to earn my Merrit Badge.

Had to look up cross-body bag, always heard them as “sling bag” “1arm back pack” & such. Better than a fanny pack & marginal more space. Handy on the longer trips with no onboard storage (pre Spyder). Had a decent smaller Swiss army 1 held sunblock & hydration. Traded for a camelback with lil extra space, when found one I liked.

A man purse indeed. :)

I got mine in Thailand for $10. Lasted a few years now. Keeps your items safe in locations where you need to have things in front of you and you don't have to rummage in your pockets for you wallet or your phone. The thing you might wear on you belt can obstruct access to your pocket and you don't want to reveal that area of your body to public scrutiny whilst accessing your wallet. 🤫

I carries my 8" iPad air, wallet and cellphone in the three separate vertical load compartments. It also carries a pen and spares for my hearing aids and one or two other minor items.

I don't use it on the Spyder, but for everywhere else, I can grab it and go without worrying about trying to store everything in pant pockets. My keys clip to it.
