• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Random thought for the day

Big Brother is the governmental spying agency in the book "1984" by George Orwell, which is a classic and has nothing to do with perverts.
The posters were a warning to the citizens that they were being watched, to weed out any rebels or loonies.

Half the time people think I am one of the loonies too, because I have not had a television in over 30 years and I read a lot of books. They start talking about some TV star or popular show and I don't have a clue what they are talking about. If I mention some book, they don't have a clue what I am talking about.

And even more true today than it was back in 1817 - 1862 when Thoreau wrote it.

People in modern times ride almost everywhere they go, many sit at a desk
in an air conditioned office all day, and some even have lunch delivered so they
don't even have to leave the big swivel chairs. That is called work in modern times.

It is the only body you have, use it or lose it. In modern times, this includes your brain.

THE MAGIC BUTTON

Commercials on radio and on TV
Are, for the most part, wasted on me.

Good, bad, indifferent, the question is moot
I'm saved from them all by a button named "mute".

That is good. Enough of their repeated commercials every 15 minutes and
you would have a cereal jingle playing inside your head you could not get rid of.

And even better, I don't have TV at all and never see or hear commercials.
Even if there was some content that would not bore me to death on the TV
I would not pay a monthly fee to have them stream propaganda for commercial
products into my home. If I want or need some product I know where to find it.
