• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Random thought for the day

A little off topic... But, I just want RapidSpyder and other contributors to know how much I appreciate and look forward to the thought for the day. It is one of the very first things I check when logging in each day. Helps to set a good mind-set in this crazy world. A big thank you! Jim

Yep, you don't wanta surprise Black Bear, but they don't like the sound of little bells or the smell of pepper spray, so wear little bells to make sure you don't surprise any of those Black Bears that've taken to hiding behind poles or trees like that ^ and carry pepper spray just in case you do!! :lecturef_smilie:

But remember, neither bells nor pepper spray will work on Grizzly Bears, so you hafta watch out for and learn to recognise Black Bear and Grizzly Bear droppings so that you can leave the area quickly if you see any Grizzly Bear scats! nojoke

Black bear droppings are smaller and often contain berries, leaves, and possibly bits of fur. Grizzly bear droppings tend to contain small bells and smell of pepper...

Glad you mentioned the Grizzly bears as a separate item. If you encounter one of them, they view you as a nice little snack. I am still reminded of the famous "bearman." He made a living going around to schools to show the students how he camped among the bears and made friends with them in AK. He and his girlfriend met an untimely demise by getting eaten alive in Katmai National Park in AK.
