• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Random thought for the day

I'm a Medicare recipient. Endless ads in the mail and on TV begging me to "make the call"! If I do, do you suppose all those mailings and irritating ads will cease?

Nope. All you'll do is verify that you are in fact a real living, breathing, target for such ads. Think of it as telling them, "Bring'em on!"

Unless the name pops up on the phone screen and I know them, they are talking to a living, breathing answering machine.

They usually hang up without leaving a message. The spam calls have just about made my phone a one way device, with only outgoing calls.

Email is screened at the ISP, and screened again when it hits the computer. Very few of them get through, and even then, only once from the same spam address.

:coffee:...Just thought I would share a thought. It is really a big problem for someone who doesn't want or need this 'modern-day' technology. I try and stay away from them as best I'm able. I always tell the Doctors and hospitals that I only have a house wall phone.
Boy you should hear what they say next. ......:roflblack:.....:roflblack:

Just got to love it. .....

For all practical purposes, I do only have a house phone. No cable here, so I am on the far end of a booster DSL line for phone and Internet. I do have a cell phone, but it is only for use in town or when traveling. I live in a dead zone for connection to a tower. It will sometimes connect out in the fields, if it is turned in the correct direction. It is useless inside the house or inside the steel shop building. The cell stays turned off, because it will just search until it kills the battery if it is left on with the sometimes signal barely getting through. I only turn it on when I want to use it.

I get the same kind of comments about no cell phone. When I go to Lowe's or Tractor Supply for a curbside pickup, the automatic answering service there always tells me there is no order connected with the phone number I am calling from. Have to try to get the stupid machine to connect you to a people, and some of the people are not much smarter than the machine. They want to know why I am using a different number. I used to try to explain the problem, but now I just say the cord on the house phone is too short to reach to town and I am sitting in the parking lot in front of their store.
