• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rain On Visor

got "raincoat & fogtech " last year before Lamonster's BBQ , was not satisfied when back to PLEXUS (get it from any motorcycle accessories store-made for aviation use,also plastics ) :firstplace:

Rain-X is NOT for plastic windshields. According to the manufacturer, it will damage plastic windshields. Unfortunately, what they recommend for cleaning Rain-X buildup, Bon-Ami cleanser, will also damage plastic windshields. Use pledge or any quick touch up automotive spray wax.

The wife and I use the Ultimate Detailer from Meguiers 0n the windscreens and the helmet shields and it works great, the water beeds up and rolls off very fast.

Just close eyes and speed up. Dont worry. Everyone will get out of your way.:yikes::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

There's good news and bad news. First the good news...I have used Rain-X on visors for many years, and it does work. It also doesn't seem to leave rainbows with my polarized sunglasses, like Pledge or auto waxes do. The bad news is that it will eventually cloud and craze the visor. When that happens, the visor must be replaced. I ride in the rain a lot, especially on my BMW, so I have averaged about 3 visors per helmet. That's one every 1 1/2 to 2 years.

Lately I have been using the anti-fog compounds. You know...Z-Wax, Z-Spritz, Cat Crap, Artic Cat, etc. They aren't as good at directing the rain off, but they do work...and they are supposed to be polycarbonate safe. I have not seen any sign of crazing, but I am not saying with certainty yet.

Safely increase the speed ...:D:joke:

:agree: :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Rain reduces not only our visibility (and stopping distance) for cars to see and avoid us but ours as well. Seriously though, depending on how hard its coming down will decide for me what course of action I take. If it's a deluge I will just pull over and wait it out. Good thing we have the WX channels on the Spyder's radio to let us know how long we may have to wait! Sometimes waiting it out is the smartest and safest choice. And I would rather be on 3-wheels in the rain versus 2-wheels any day of the week!

Remember, put on rain gear just to stay dry and alert - if you don't have any > GET SOME. Doubles in the cold to keep the wind out too.

I use 210 cleaner, IT has done the job for all my rides over the years. Just make sure you use a wet cloth first then use the 210 cleaner to clean an coat the windshield .:2thumbs: I have found that when you lower your windshield that it blowes the water off the fase shild then put it back up that's better then trying to clean it by hand weil your rideing.

I am interested in getting some feedback on how Raincoat works on the windshields. If the mods will allow, I am willing to send samples in the hopes of getting feedback.

How do I set that up?
