There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Radio Volume 2012 RT

The feature that lowers the volume as you approach a stop has stopped working on my 2012 RT-Audio. Any thoughts?

You'll have to go into the personal preferences part of the computer...
push the mode button, until you see it.
It'll be hiding in with the optional settings for Audio...
That's all that I know whithout firing my bike up and looking around in there... :opps:
I don't think that you can access it if the bike is in gear... keep it in neutral with the parking brake engaged while digging around!

Interesting... Might be why I do not want the new radio ;)

I have been reading posts about some people having problems I never have with my radio. Mine is the older one that requires the black box in the iPod integration cable. I never see many people posting issues with this radio version! Yet the new radios all seem to have a few reported problems.

1) Loosing settings after shut down.
2) Loosing presets
3) Issues with Sena SM10 connection and it stops putting audio out to the SM10.
4) Now this interesting post but it is like #1 above. It loosing settings in the radio!

The manufacturer of this radio I BET has code updates that BRP has not rolled out. I have emailed them back and forth a few times and they just will not share any info with me for a Spyder as they say it is proprietary to BRP. But they did allude to a update they have! Since this probably cannot be updated through BUDs and the radio must be removed and WHO KNOWS what tools are needed to update the radio code, I suspect BRP will probably never do anything about it :(

In the end they DO offer users to send the radio in for repair and get it updated.....

I think I am kind of glad I have the older radio :)

I don't know about the 2012 radio but I can say that the 2013 radio was far better than the one on my 2010. You could actually hear the radio on the 2013

My 2011 is load and clear! In fact I am pretty impressed with it overall considering I was not expecting much from it to begin with!

Cant speak for any other year either.

The sound losing its vst setting is quite common but a 10 second fix. Normally I see it after a service, maybe a bud reset. Just go to settings, audio and turn on the vst settings.

other than that my 2012 radio as been fine, wish it was HD but I listen to the iPod more than the radio.

No issues with my 2012 radio or BBs 2010 radio. You can do the settings without being in neutral if the engine is not running.

Thanks to everyone! A reset was the fix and really simple. The radio on my 2012 RT works great and I really like this particular feature. 3900 miles now and not a single issue, (fingers crossed).

Your post reminded me that I wanted to reduce that feature's effect on the sound level; I just came in from moving it back to the mid-level setting...
..And I played with the bass bias too! ;)

Not just for RTs unfortunately

I too have the same issue with my ST. Worked with the service manager at the dealership to fix it, but he simply doesn't know what's causing it. Tried B.U.D.S. updates several times, but a few days later the audio settings reset. I just learned to live with it & can now reset them in under 30 seconds.

Anyways...here is the link to the thread I started on the topic:

I've had no problem hearing the radio on my 2010 even at 70 - 75 MPH with 3/4 or half helmet.
