• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Radiator Outlet Cover Filler Panel...

Roadster Raoul

New member
Have any of you fine folks bought and/or installed a radiator outlet filler panel? I was thinking of making my own, and was wondering what kind of double-sided tape or adhesive was used to hold them in place. I'd prefer tape, but would be willing to use adhesive...I just don't know which is water-proof, but can also handle the heat in the radiator "compartment"...:dontknow:

Any suggestions?

rad. cover

i'm going to try a piece of gutter cover from home depot, the stiff metal screen type. the pattern of the screen looks a little like the other covers. at least on my bike. spray it black, install with silicone or high heat silicone.,,,,,,,,,did mine today, left it unpainted, looks kind of glittery, which looks really good against the silver paint. 2 dollars 35 cents. YOU GO RICK,,,,,thanks to jvicker, for a good looking cheap mod.

SPYDERPOPS has them for sale at a VERY reasonable price. These were designed by Lamonster. I had the opportunity to ride back from Maggie Valley with these installed. They worked GREAT.

Thanks...

Thanks for the responses, guys. I have seen the covers that you guys mention, but I was just thinking of trying something myself...

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.

cheapo radiator exhaust port mesh screen

+I press fit a piece of mesh under the deflector shield. Total time was less than 15 minutes.

My cost was nothing because I had the mesh laying around in the garage, and it took me about 90 seconds to cut it to fit. Dependent on your mesh design, be sure to cut for directional heat dissipation, as shown.

Remove the RH Side Panel #705002568 and lay it inside up on a protected
surface.

On the Heat Deflector #705002831, remove the two Torx truss screws
#250000350 from the #250000048 panel nuts seen at the bottom here:

Leave the three clips #517302785 on the heat deflector in place seen at the
bottom right here:

Cut your mesh to size to fully cover the vent space plus some room under the
deflector toward the body bend, then fit it under the deflector, and bend it
to shape.

When you resecure the truss screws, the mesh will be held in place by the
heat deflector (choose a sturdy mesh):

Remount the side panel.

Ride on.
