• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Qwik Shade

I am hoping it keeps people off the spyder. I haven't rode to work yet as I would like to. I do not like the idea of my Spyder sitting in the lot unattended with the curious public on the loose. I try to think people are smart enough to keep off, but you know as well as I do, there is always going to be someone who thinks it is ok. The cover may not keep someone off, but to me at least, it is better than doing nothing.

I have been wanting to get a quik shade like Lamonster has. The JP cycles site has them for 79.99, but I found them on Motosport for 19.77. I have ordered from them before with no problems.:2thumbs:

Just thought I would pass this information along. I just finished ordering one for myself.

Thanks alot, 8LEGS! At $80, I wouldn't have gone for it, but for $20, I can.

On payday. (Hey, who maxed out my credit card?!)

What size works best on the Spyder?

I've been looking at getting one, but couldn't justify the price. At $20 I'm ordering one right now. What size works best ton the Spyder?

What size do you recommend we buy?
How is it attached? (Will it scratch the gloss black?)
What parts of the Spyder does it cover?

Thanks, the pics saved me some $, won't be ordering it. I was hoping it was elastic-edged, don;t wanna put hooks on the body panels and windshield.

I have had mine for a year and can put it on in 60 seconds and off in 30. Rubber tips on the hooks and no scratches yet. M size keeps heat and dust off seat and tank and also deters people from sitting on it. Packs very small. I think I may have gotten the last spider web design. I really like it.

Ordered the Med. silver. Thanks for the tip.

Hope you got it at decent price. $44 plus $8.50 S & H from J & P Cycles. 10 elastic straps around the edges with six rubber tipped s-hooks let you customize how you attach it. I use 2 front, 2 rear and one on each side. M stretches over tank and seat and really hugs the bike and looks like custom cover.

I have the large. I don't use the hooks at all. I hook the back two loops to the taillights, the back two to the license plate "I don't have a rear fender", I then stretch it all the way over my shield and latch to the trunk and close. This will keep it from walking away as well. It covers most of the handle bars, only leaving about an inch of the grips showing.

I showed my wife the pictures of these. Tonight, we're going to hit the fabric store and buy some nice fabric, and some ballistic cord/bungee cord and she's going to sew something up. I suspect it will cost us less than $10 in material and maybe 1 hour to pattern, and 1 hour to sew it.

Mine is silver moon, so I'm thinking a nice blue/gray plaid. :)

We'll see... these projects take longer than you ever plan.

Several months ago I bought the medium size and attach it with the sewn in straps to the handlebars and rear indicators. If need be, it will stretch to go over the mirrors.
It is easily stolen, but it does deter the looky loos from testing the seats.
