• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Quirks just with the Auto

Looks like most of the problems are with the auto tranny. What about the power steering, bike going into limp mode etc. Are they pretty much on the Auto model or both......

I am thinking of switching to a manual and putting and an electric shifter on it....

Thanks

I have the SM and had problems with the ps. I think that's the one problem we share.

Just so you see the other side of the coin, we have a PE SM5 and have had no problems with steering or limp mode in the least. You get a kind of distorted view on these forums. As Lamonster said, nobody talks about it when things go right. Most of us have had no difficulties.

True just trying to get the full picture as this is a one time shot for me. It looks like the auto is the headache and the M's are doing OK.....Please folks tell me all that is right as I really want this machine..

There have been some problems with the manuals, too. The steering situation was first noticed there, as was limp mode. Of course they were out first. There have even been some odd problems on them caused by faulty gear position sensors. Hard to get the full picture as yet. I know this is difficult, especially under your circumstances, but at some point you may have to trust to luck,...and go with your gut. All-in-all I think this is a fine machine. I wouldn't have let my wife buy one to keep up with my BMW otherwise.

Better hurry while you still can. Spring is right around the corner. I have a feeling that once the weather gets warm, these things are gonna disappear like snow flakes.

There are three of us here in Lakeland who ride together with miles ranging from 1200 to 4500 and we haven't had any problems.Well i should say i have had one problem, which is the brake squeal.I tried 2 dealerships and can't seem to get either one to fix them.

SE5

I for one have had mine to the dealer twice and that's where it is right now. My buddy has the same SE5 and he hasn't had any issues with his. If the SE is what you need I would go ahead and get it. If you have a good dealer they will do all that they can. I love mine even though it has caused some headaches but in the long run BRP will fix the problem:bowdown: and make these new machines more fantastic than they already are

SM5's at a dealer up here

There's a dealer about 50 miles from here with 2009 Spyders at what look to be discount prices. He has the Silver/Black SM5 09 at $14,999 and the Red/Black or Yellow/Black at $15,499. Yes Spring is getting closer, and yes they'll probably be gone quickly. D. Reinhard, Ohio

Get what you like

I have an se5 with NO problems @1500 miles.
wouldnt want the manual, the auto is too much fun!

and..........Im Lazy!!!
