• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Quick Puff of white smoke

Has anyone noticed a very quick puff of white smoke while in a turn? its very intermittent, it comes from the vents at the front of the bike near my knees and under the steering console. At first I thought that maybe it was coolant dripping onto a hot surface but I haven't been able to trace it back to anything yet ... Any ideas?
I can see it and smell it but it's gone right away... :helpsmilie:

Sorry I posted this in the wrong spot...this is on my 2008 GS SE5

Could be oil dripping from the bottom of the air box, Usually from the lower right side. Check if the bottom of the air box is wet [oil] if so it's oil blow bye from the crank case vent hose. E/Z fix if it is.
Hope this helps.

My SE5 did the same and it was the oil blow-by coming out of the air-box dripping down on hot engine parts.

Had a hard time (as Scotty had warned...) cleaning it all off the engine with kerosene and soapy water, to make sure everything was oil free.

The sponge in the breather hose fix did not work for me, but the air filter arrangement from KewlMetal did the trick, as the breather hose discharges fumes and oil-mist directly into the acceleration body.
