Quick Electrical Question...for a noob

I've just installed LaMonster's fog & headlights and would like to know if I can tap into the powerline from the GPS Power (I think that's right) to drive my Garmin and Valentine One? Is it as simple as using a T-tap type device to pick up the line? Or, is it advisable to do this another way? These are low power devices and I'm all for simplicity.
I appreciate your help!

I got the BRP ones and they came with the switch and everything. My spyder was already pre wired. Just plug and play.:yes:

That sounds good; but, what 'BRP ones' and what switch?

I should have specified that this is a 2016 F3T - Limited.

Cant help you there, I ride an ST LTD. but normally Lamonster sells top notch stuff and has good instructions and or videos.

Under the left service panel, on the F3L, there's a dedicated power source for accessories.

I think you did but I guess I just need to find that source and the connectors required to hook things together. Is the power for the fender lights not sufficient to tap in to? Or, find 'your' second source?

Power

Lift left cover. Find the white tag that says accessories. Two wires, one a color, one black. Switched power, bike must be running to be on. Tap into those two! Done!

Perhaps it's just because I lost an hour of sleep last night...

But if you've got a Limited: you already have a GPS, so what exactly are you trying to grab power for?

You do not need to "tap" into existing wiring for lights, etc. You have 4 options for power on an F3.

These three come on only when the engine is running. These three are specifically left there by BRP for YOU TO USE. All they are is pigtails. These can be hard to find but they are usually covered in plastic/hot-melt on the ends and should have a white label with "customer accessory" on them or something of the sort.

1. Under your top left service panel where the air filter sits. (this one can be somewhat hidden with some other wires)
2. Just behind your FRUNK bucket where the battery sits.
3. Under your passenger seat.

This one sits by your right leg and is called the GPS connector. It is powered up as soon as you turn the key on. Engine does not need to be running.
4. GPS circuit. This is an AMP 1.5 series connector two conductor. You can make your own jumper with tail so you do not tap into factory wiring.

Thanks for the responses. I don't yet have the GPS wired up, that's one thing I'm trying to do. I had understood from a LaMonster video that one of the wiring sources I could use was the 'GPS' wiring. And, the only reason I figured (noob, remember) I needed to tap into any wire is that I would not have easy access to the connector I would need to plug into the customer accessory item plug. Perhaps that won't be a problem. Anyway, with your answers, I think I have this figured out. Thanks guys!

The GPS connector does not have to be used with a GPS. There is nothing special about it other than it comes on with the key versus the engine needing to be running. It comes down to personal preference.
