• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sorta wondering about how you answer some of the REALLY dumb questions about your :spyder2:. For the first time the other day I got one that made me almost speachless with amazment.:yikes: lady said she had been on a 2 wheeler once and wanted to know how was the "BALANCE":hun::dontknow: on this byke. To say that i was floored is an understatement. Took me a minute to answer as I couldn't believe she asked it.:roflblack::roflblack: I think I said "it's got 3 wheels there isn't a problem with "Balance"!!! Anybody else get this kind of dingy questions??:helpsmilie:

Most people are intrigued by the Spyder and will ask all kinds of questions, Some might seem dumb to you but to them it's just an opening line.:chat: Just smile and explain it to them. Maybe you'll convert some non riders.
Besides it will give you a good laugh at the end of the day.:D

dumbest question ever

at the gas station a gentlmen asks me wheres my kick stand? honestly I could not answer that.:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

My wife asked when I brought the Spyder home, " Is it paid for" ??? So I replied to her, "I don't owe anything on it.... you do because I put the loan in your name" !!! :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: She didn't think I was very funny.

.....and you're still alive to tell the tale.....:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Yesterday, my wife was asked if her :spyder2: was a car! :hun: The other day, I was asked if my :spyder2: was a Harley?!? :dontknow::lecturef_smilie::dontknow: (I want to put a "bar & shield" decal on the trunk, but Kathy won't let me do it. I'm just whipped, eh?

But I thinking she might get the last laugh though, because the other day I seen her with the DMV motorcycle study book. I'm thinking she might be up to no good !!! I better check into this. Is it going to be a two Spyder family or a man without his cool ride ??? :dontknow: She couldn't handle a SM5,... or could she ??? :yikes::yikes::yikes:

My wife thought the same thing. When she found out that the lever distance was adjustable, and that the Spyder has a vacuum clutch assist, she bought a hand exerciser, then promptly went out and bought her manual Spyder. After taking the MSF course on a two-wheeler with a clutch, she handled it like an old pro. Kiss your cool ride goodbye! :roflblack:

:agree: My wife is going thru the same thing... but then she asked me about the DMV test and told her that the MSF written test is a whole lot easier but they will not let her take the riding portion on the :spyder2: and she really is not wanting to ride 2 wheels. So it was either take the harder written test and take the riding portion on the :spyder2: (DMV) or go take the MSF course, take the easier written test but ride 2 wheels (and get the certificate). After considering the options, she is going to take the MSF course in April.:shemademe_smilie:

Didn't mean to insult anybody. got foot in mouth problem and can't spit out the right words. I do get a lot of questions and do answer them with as much good info as I can but this one question REALLY got me off guard. I haven't had to any "dumb" questions. It's like somebody put in the other thread about these kinds of questions. People don't think thru what they are going to ask and get their words all messed up for what ever reason. I usually have a SEVERE case of Anthrax( hoof (in) and mouth disease:joke:) so i kinda understand the problem with getting questions from people who have NO IDEA what a spyder is and it's a novelty to them. It doesn't FIT in any BOX they want to put it in.:joke:

The questions are always interesting. I look at them as an opportunity to meet new people most everywhere I go. We met one couple in Soldotna AK (western part Kenai Penninsula area) and they asked me several questions about our Spyders. I gave them the video and advertising card that BRP sent me to distribute to others. Two months later, we ran into the same couple at the only restaurant in Chitina, AK (the end of the paved road going east into the bush). It was like meeting old friends. No--they were not driving a new Spyder--just following the fish.

:firstplace: Our favorite 'dumb' question is "does that thing steer from the back?"

Last week at Costco, a guy (whose wife really liked the Spyders) exclaimed, shaking his head "I'll never ride anything that won't let me put my feet down!"

Here's your sign! :duh:

While I have gotten all of the previous question mentioned, the one I get the most is "I heard this leans into the corners". I answer, "no but I do"
