• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Questions on a 2014 RS

Well I have a lead on a 2014 RS with less than 500 miles on it. Some family issues and they have to sell it. No dings, no accident. They added a higher windshield and that is all. And there is still a 2 year warranty with it.
Is there anything I should be watching for on this Spyder?
I still need to sell my 2009 Suzuki V-strom DL650 with 23k miles. Then my beloved Kawasaki KLR 650 but I don't think there will be a problem.

Well ya can't go too far wrong with that model and mileage. Check with them, I have a 4 year warranty for mine. Love it but if you're going to tour with it will need a few other goodies to help with comfort. Enjoy:yes::clap::ohyea::thumbup:

I haven't heard of any problems with the 14 RS. You might want to check around at dealers to see what they are selling leftover new 14s for. You may or may not be getting a good deal on the price.

Thanks for the suggestions. I noticed you said a trailer hitch. I thought the RT was the only one that could have a hitch? Also I plan on trying to figure out how to put bags on it. I would love to have the GIVI TRK 33/46 ones. But will probably have to have the mounts custom make.

I did do some checking and this price is 2-3k less than them.

The RS is a good ryde but just be prepared for the $200 service at 600-650 miles so basically one tank of gas or so

RS

I purchased a new 2014 RS sm5 in Feb. and have about 2000 miles ridden so far. No problems yet, it seems solid and is very comfortable for me. I did add 4 inch risers, tall windshield, and back rest plus a few other personal customizations. Leaving on a 2000 mile plus trip next week and can't wait:yes:

I am glad that so far no one has had any problems. I will have to check out the bags from GIVI. So glad to hear there are some.
Have a safe trip.

Before I purchased my Spyder RT-s I had two bikes in the garage. A yamaha V-Max and a honda Valkyrie, both 1998's. Both paid for and cheap to insure. Both fast and ya do have to lean to turn:D.
Sooooo- Keep at least one of the bikes ( maybe the Kawa as it is your beloved and my blood still runs Kawasaki green from my ZX-1100).

Soooooo--- I still have both bikes and ride them when ever my wife isn't on the back of the RT.

" No " Kaos

We hear very little from the RS group. The machines are pretty much bullet proof. Owned two before I became involved with the RT's.
