• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

We're wondering if anyone out there has a 5th wheel toy Hauler RV for their Spyder. Wondering if a Spyder RT can be driven up the ramp. They seem really high off the ground and at a steep angle. Concerned that the angle is too steep for the Spyder front end.

Any thoughts? Experiences? Advice?

We've got a nine-foot garage, and it's TIGHT! :shocked:
But it works! :D
I have ot raise the rear of the ramp up about two inches, to lessen the breakover angle a bit,..
I also use some 42" short ramps, to get the front wheels started.

Most of the 5th wheel rigs have larger garages (10 to 18 feet!); so fitting in won't be a problem.
They also have longer ramps too! :D
 
Toy hauler

We have a 10’ garage sometimes I have to lift the front of the camper up to change the pitch.

also pump up the rear shock to the top helps.

Heartland tourque has a 1’ 1/2 dove tail to help.

I had a problem with my Goldwing and the SPYDER.

I have a 10' garage so the fit is not an issue, just getting up the ramp.

I replaced the bumpers with 1,000lb rated trailer stabilizers and then added a HF 1,500lb ramp hinged to the camper ramp.

It's not pretty but it's got a nice solid run-up with very little hump. Easy to get in and out.

We have a 45ft. Momentum 5th wheel and the only thing I have to do is put down to 2X6 to raise the front wheels so that the bottom of the front frunk does not hit the ramp. We have trailered the spyder from PA to GA this past year and have plans for NM, and Sturgis. We installed a winch so that I could load it without having to drive it in and it works great. Toy hauler

I have the Heartland Cyclone with the 10ft garage that has the dovetail. No issues loading or securing my F3L. The toy hauler is for sale..2007 Cyclone 3210 5th wheel. I'm in AZ.
 
Our Keystone Fuzion 310 had the 10ft garage. Never bottomed out once. Did scrape the nose one time though. But no problems with any level RV park site.

:shocked: Tell me a little bit about those 1000 pound trailer stabilizers: I'd like to be able to not have to "block up" my ramp... :thumbup:

Adjustable and fold flat when not in use.

Several companies make similar but I found these to be simple and inexpensive and being adjustable make them easy to use in some of the "non-level" campgrounds.

Please excuse the dirty camper, that was taken just after a 2 month cross country trip.

Spyders in Toy Hauler

We just got back today with our Momentum 394M and we put an F3 and an RTS in the 12 1/2 foot garage. I drive the F3 in forward to one side and back in the RTS to the other side. The trick is to go at an angle, get one of the front tires on the ramp, and turn the handle bars and drive in. Backing in is trickier but use I the same technique. By getting one tire started on the ramp first the nose of the Spyder also lifts higher and doesn't hit the ramp. I am able to load both Spyders while level and the toy hauler hooked up to the truck. If the ground is not level, just raise the front of the toy hauler a little to make the ramp less steep.
 
Did you have any traction problems, when backing up the ramp?
:opps: I couldn't get mine to take a bite, and keep climbing... :banghead:
 
My toy hauler is new so the rear ramp has a good amount of traction. To back up I do need a little momentum to get over the initial tires going onto the ramp but don't have problems after that. If the rear tire is wet there might be some issues but I have not had that problem yet.

Very interesting setup Navvet. Did you buy those extra 2 ramps or build them?
