• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Questions about 2018 RTL

The new Spyder runs great, still trying to figure out BRP Connect.
I filled the bike with gas today and at every light I smelled gas.
The L/H blinker does not shut off automatically
Looking for suggestions on what to do.
I'm getting ready to remove the rear axle to install my hitch. I checked the belt tension with a krikit and it was 260. Is that the right pressure

What type of Hitch do you have ...... I'm pretty sure BRP's is a Bolt Thru design ............. #260 lbs. I believe will match the BRP specs ..... I run 165-75 ....and I have no vibes from my belt on my 2014 RT. and no other issues at that setting........Most Spyders have had issues with the turn signals not going off by themselves, I think it may get better with time - mine did ....... The plate that holds the trailer hitch is connected by the axle. I took it off my 12 and now I'm hooking it up to the 18. It is an aftermarket that I bought on Ebay 3 years ago and it still works good

NEW mANUAL

I bought the manual today. should be here in about a week
:yikes::yikes::yikes:........... If you bought a Hard copy from your dealer .... see if you can get that canceled .... You can get them on-line for about $25 to $30 ...... just a thought ...... I remember those after-market hitches .... I not sure anyone is still making that style ..... but it is very strong and won't come off unless it BREAKS :banghead::banghead: .............. Mike

Welcome to the "beta tester," "cutting edge," portion of :spyder2:ing.:bowdown:

Sounds like the 2018's are going to be mostly electronic questions. Happily, this go around, I can sit back, relax, and learn from others.:bowdown::bowdown:

Cannot answer your current questions. Above my pay grade so far.

What's this crap, I can't adjust the front shocks:banghead:
The back airbag is automatic. I think I see a compressor in there but there is no button for it

I don't know if you guys are aware of this, but putting on the heater doesn't apply the parking brake. It also doesn't open the frunk.
Some of you will understand what I'm saying.
From reverse to first gear you only have to hit the shifter once
Spell check tells me that shifter is not a word but shiftier is

The front shocks haven't been adjustable since 2013. There should be a switch in the switch cluster to adjust the rear air shock from soft to hard. I'm guessing that since you had a 2012 you haven't been keeping up with the changes that have been taking place from 2013 on. There have been quite a few. I believe the only real change from 2017 to 18 is the electronics.

The frunk switch part of the parking brake switch was dropped in 2014. My 2013 & 14 RTs shift(ed) directly from reverse to first. Well, at least your spell checked didn't tell you change the 'f' to a 't'! :roflblack:

My 2012 had a switch for the compressor. The 2018 does not. according to the manual it's automatic.
You're correct I have not kept up with the changes

I read in the book that the heater is only for the hands. What is that big plug in the seat for?

That big plug under the seat to the passenger pilon is what tells your :spyder:that there is a passenger aboard. (But you can tell your passenger that it is the connection for the ejection system for unruly or overly opinionated passengers) :joke:

One of the dashboard switches should be to set the RANGE where the automatic "leveling" will occur; soft to hard.
Unless they did away with that in '18. My '17 has it. You can not turn it off, however, or adjust it manually.
