• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

If you have the electric push button frunk release, should the key relese work still? Mine doesnt and never has. I want to know for sure before I take it to the shop.

I have a 2012 Spyder RT Ltd and in the first 200 miles or so my electric push button frunk release stop working and then the key also wouldn't work as well. They said I had a loose wire due to riding. A short time later after closing it many times it wouldn't latch. I was out on the road with a bunch of Harley riders for bike night and they found the nuts were lose to the latch and every time I closed it the latch moved a little so you may want that checked also. they both should work. Make sure you are turning the right direction to release it & not the seat latch. Also the latch maybe out of adjustment

If you have the trunk release, it should work with the ignition turned on (& engine running for 2010's). First be sure your trunk is not too full, anything pushing back against the lid will make it tought to open...sometimes even with teh key. Also make sure that the trunk weatherstrip hasn't pulled off and isn't pushing back. Make sure any trunk liner is properly installed...under the weather strip and properly secured with the velcro strip not interfering. Look at the trunk microswitch in the top rain gutter on the right side of the Spyder. The arm should not be bent to one side. It helps to lubricte the latch with some white lithium grease or a similar product. If all that fails, see your dealer. Some have been wired incorrectly, but most just need to have the latch adjusted.

fixed the nonworking key frunk release

Fixed the frunk..... come to find out, the cable was not hooked up and was pinched between the hard plastic of the frunk and the frame. After fixing it, the dealership said that mine was not the first that they have seen like that.

Thanks for the update., the dealership installs the trunk, so they are their own worst enemies.

BTW

you should spray all of your latch releases with silicone. that included the seat latch, frunk, glove box, rear trunk, gas cap, and saddlebags.
