• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Question??? With all respect.

All normal babies are born with two. 1/2 the population eventually deveops larger ones than the other 1/2--generally speaking, that is.

I am sorry you lost yours. I hope the events surrounding that were not painful.

Let me clarify.... Big honking Breasts.

Very well written, well thought out (and perfect) response

Good morning,

For me the Trike serves a couple purposes.

I'm 38 years old, and my health is not a concern. For me, I love the styling of the Spyder. I think its cool looking, and fortuntely, being the guy paying the note, I love riding it.

It gives my wife peace of mind knowing its loaded with safety features, and its a big, heavy, highly visable road touring bike. It's stable, comfortable, and the learning curve for her was greatly reduced.

I respect all riders, and I can appreciate your badge loyalty. If someone wants to ride a 2-wheeler, far be it for me to be judgemental.

I will admit I struggle with the whole "Why" discussion, especially since it doesnt impact anyone but me and my wife what kind of bike we ride (and it is a bike, just for clarification).

Enjoy your time, enjoy your ride, and if you decide to wave at me coming the other way, great! If not, you're going the other way anyway,...later.

I'm in a similar position to you. I'm a bit older (52) but also have no health issues that prevent me from riding something else. I came to the whole bike/trike thing late in life (got my motorcycle license last year after riding for the first time ever). I went out and bought a Honda Shadow Aero 750. Rode it for a couple of months until winter really set in. Pulled it out of storage in March but then learned about the Spyder. I bought that later in March. I have been on the Honda very few times since.

I simply like the way the Spyder looks, feels and probably most important, makes both my wife and I feel safer (I believe it really IS safer, but regardless of whether it's true or not, it certainly gives us that illusion). When I'm on the Spyder, I also don't have to constantly think of all the things that come second nature to someone that's been riding a long time - for me, all of these things take away from the pure enjoyment of riding that I get on the Spyder.

And really, isn't that what it's about? Enjoying whatever it is that you have? If it's two wheels, more power to you and that's great. In my case, it's three. If I had learned to ride earlier in life, maybe I wouldn't enjoy three wheels as much, maybe I would - no way to know at this point and it truly doesn't matter.

Don't judge me for riding three wheels and I won't judge you for riding two (or four, or a unicycle - or anything else you may happen to ride!).

Enjoy whatever you have!!!

We have been treated better and with more respect by HD riders than anyone else. We have experienced more snubs and rudeness from Spyder riders than anyone else. And that's been true all over the map. Well, one exception was Daytona, thankfully.

Patrick

Your welcome

I agree; but, for whatever reason, this will continue.:dontknow: It's funny because after the original post we never heard from harley rider again.

Response to why people ride 3 wheels

Hello to all
I do not understand why someone's perception of another riding a 3 wheeled vehicle would be viewed in such a negative way. So in respect to this perception I will not even answer it, as the view of that particular individual is his own self opinionated view. No sense in adding ingredients to a boiling pot of strife, there is enough of that in this world with out adding to it. It is my opinion that nobody owes another a explanation of what and why they ride . If they are blessed to get the type of ride they so choose, and enjoy it and the awesome feeling of riding free in the open air, well God bless them. I do have to give a opinion on a motorcycle license for a 3 wheel vehicle. Again its only my opinion but riding a trike on open roads and in city traffic is as dangerous as riding a 2 wheeler as you are directly exposed to people who drive there cars while texting, while talking on the phone, or the most common excuse of all I did not see them. The training about safety and knowledge you learn from a qualified instructor can help you spot a problem before it becomes a problem for you, and to give you advice in how deal with a flat tire, no brakes, engine shut down or other potential things that can go a drift . Having as much knowledge is beneficial for the riders safety. I could not see someone who never rode before now gets a 3 wheeler and takes to the road with no instruction he assumes he knows what he is doing but in reality that is only a presumption of assumption as he does not and will greatly put himself and others in harms way. Lets all be positive, encourage, help each other on the open roads. Well enjoy your ride folks what ever it is, be safe give The Lord a big thank you each time you arrive at your destination.
Sincerely
Mike ( thankful for my Spyder)

Because I want to! Simple answer for a question that is impossible to give a correct answer to because we all have different experience!
