There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. about 3-4 weeks ago was knocked off the bike by a utility/power line across the road, on my way to work at 4AM, don't remember much, remember passing a gas station that was open that is not normally open at that time of the morning, then a police officer telling me not to get up, in the ambulance giving wife's phone #, and that's about it. Don't remember hitting anything, or getting on to the gurney, or to the hospital. But i'm alive and kicking sort of LOL

GS1 - Mate!!! So glad you are ok and sorry to hear about your Spyder.

I have a 2017 RTL and while it has its idiosyncrasies, and I think I am having a better run reliability wise (please don't read this out loud in case it hears you) I prefer it to the 2018/2019 after having had a 2018 model for 30 days as a loaner

Some days, like last weekend, I took a round trip ride of about 500 km's and loved every minute in cold, wet, windy miserable weather, with the chief cook on the pillion. She was warm, comfortable (aka happy) considering the conditions which always makes life easier. It tows the 622 trailer well on long trips and I love the riding position.

Please feel free to fire any questions my way.

Dislikes
- Headlight spread (high and low beam)
- Lack of front adjustment on front shocks

Likes
- Ride position with an aging back.
- Comfort of seat.
- Chief cook feels very safe on the back seat.
- Height adjustable screen providing wind protection or fresh air at the push of a button.
- Adjustable rear suspension at the push of a button to adjust to conditions.
- Readability of display.
- Separate fuel and temp and gauges.
- Rider and pillion hand grip warmers.
- Fuel economy.
- Ample storage (top box, panniers, frunk, glove compartment), though this is a curse when you 'thought you put the Tyre gauge in XYZ and have to go thru all of them to find it'
- Handles trailer towing well.
- I used to dislike the ground clearance but have adapted to this and bottoming out is no longer an issue over ruts in the road surface (could be the way I allow the suspension to settle before heading down the road or more observant).
- Feel a little bit spoiled by the whole experience.
- Running boards with room to move feet around, rear ones adjustable to suit who's on the rear.

Mods on the way though
- Elka or Wilburs shocks for better control of comfort and ride behavior
- Alternate tyres to the Kenda's, trying Nankangs next week

Take care.

Get a good lawyer. You'll be able to afford a Maserati...

Thanks guys the meds have me drifting in and out, the TV's watched me more then I've watched it

Hope someone did a report on how the line was downed. Could have been at least a couple things. Poor Public Utilities upkeep, or too tall a load on a semi that passed through in the wee hours of the night?

Yikes...!!!

Sorry to hear of your misfortune but glad that you came out of it in better than expected condition. Heal well and you have offers coming in already. I have an RS sm5 2012 but will not let it go...good luck....

Wow! That’s a scary story and I’m glad to hear you’re looking for another Spyder. You need to find a dealer that will let you take a test drive so you can decide if you want an RT or F3. I have seen some great deals on used bikes lately and I think you’ll be able to get a nice one at a good price.

Glad to hear that you made it through. You definitely survived a dangerous situation. As for your next spyder, if you are looking for a RT, I suggest that you look for a 2014 and up. Nothing wrong with riding a RT 1up 2 of my buddies, and myself (when I had my RT) ride 1 up 95% or more of the time. A 2014 RT can be had for around $12k-$14k easily. Heal up, and good luck shopping.
