Question Noise on CB Transmission?

anyone having problems with a lot of static background noise... like white noise when you TX on the CB? this is the BRP OEM CB. using the BRP headset in a non BRP Helmet.

I can receive on the CB clearly no issues and have the 2011 display so no sticking TX. just seems like my transmission has a lot of noise. thinking mic is picking up wind noise as I wear a 3/4 helmet with the full face shield. strange dont have that issue with the intercom only on the CB. tried adjusting the mic gain on the CB screen but no help with the noise on my TX.

I have a 2011 Limited with the OEM communications. We are just starting to try the CB due to waiting on new helmets. We too can hear the person talking to us just fine but when we key the PPT button, the other person says they hear a high pitched squeal. I have to look at the CB settings closer to see if a setting is out of wack. The Can Am communications are definitely "different" than what we are used to on our Goldwing.

Man... That sounds like a grounding issue or loose fitting somewhere... Sorry I cannot be of more help than that

My 2010 RT with BRP CB/Intercom has the same static while transmitting. I have a J&M headset. Also have a prototype EdSets headset in another helmet that I need to check out. Will bring them both to Maggie Valley this week to test further.

Try to hook up with me at MV. Likely it's not settings on the CB. Could be a ground issue of some sort. I have known antenna issues to produce a 'sizzling' sound when a radio is transmitting. The reason has to do with 'reflected power' called SWR. Some of the RF energy gets back into the circuitry rather than going out the antenna and causing the noise.

I won't have meters or tools, but maybe hearing it can offer clues.
