There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Question Installing Two Brothers Power Tip

I have a single can Tow Brothers exhaust system and can't seem to get the end cap off the pipe. I watched some videos on installing the power tip and it seems like the end cap should come off very easily after removing the torx screws. Well, I have removed the screws and the end cap will not come off. I even tapped on it with a rubber mallet, but its really on there. Wonder if I am missing something?

Question... Why do we still see all the bolts inside the end cap from the rear shot (Last photo)?(Not the pop rivets... they stay and are not touched) All of those need to be completely removed once the pipes have gotten hot. News ones unused simply fall out...

Once the bolts are out.. you will need the rubber hammer. A little love all the way around will be needed. The cap is barely on the end of the pipe. But it does snug up pretty good after it gets hot the first time...

The pics show the torx screw still installed, but after my ride today I will try hitting it again with the mallet. (torx screws removed first of course, lol)

nm...
I just chatted their tech support

100-103 decibel

Yepper... That is why I used the 7-8db reducer on the duals... They are even louder. Night and day difference. Never needed one on the single can for the RT though...

Not sure if you know this or need to know this... But one decibel increase is significant. So with TB giving us a difference of 3db's is a rather large window.

I am not an expert, but I am very familiar with this as I like to say... In another life... I was the local expert in highfi audio, and broke a few records when I took my knowledge to the car scene back in the late 80's...

And about eight - ten years ago the DB's from an off-road vehicle became life or death for the use of said vehicle. And we found that 95db's was ok.... But 97db's although legal still attracted the boys in green with their portable test equipment. And if your "Cans" packing material was near the end of it's life (Allowing for a louder exhaust) you got a ticket.

Anyway... A good read is in this link... Helps explain it a bit.:spyder::doorag:

Yep, been there, done that! First time off mine was very sticky, plus I managed to strip the heads on 2 of those nice bronzed alum bolts (TBR actually sent me free replacements when I contacted them).

I installed a P-1 tip because I was worried about being harrassed about the noise. After a couple of weeks, I took it off and got back to enjoying hearing my Spyder talk to me! Anyone need a slightly used P-1 tip ?
