• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Question: Glove compartment lock RT-S

ok, ive read the manual multiple times, i've google searched it, etc, etc

is or is not the glove compartment supposed to lock when you turn your wheels all the way left or right and key lock the wheels on a 2012 RT-S

if its supposed to, then theres something wrong with mine

if its not supposed to...... never mind.... lol

Yes, the glove compartment is supposed to lock along with the handlebars when you turn the wheels and set the key in the correct position. The glove box is connected to the ignition lock by a cable. If the glove box doesn't lock something is wrong, either the cable is broken or disconnected.
When I first got my Spyder, the cable was disconnected.
Here is an excerpt from page 38 of the 2010 RT manual. I hope this helps:

thanks for the feedback/answers

must be disconnected since it is a brand new ride

will go see dealer next week

Mine would not lock either when I bought the spyder new. Took it to my service dealer and they had to replace the latch.

I've never tried to lock mine to the right only to the left and it locks the glovebox. Also I found out that if the glovebox is open the steering will not lock.

Yup, same with mine and that's with the steering turned right or left; doesn't matter.

Stoopid question:
Are your handlebars locking when you're trying this exercise? My thought being that if they aren't perhaps turned far-enough to be locked, it might be short-circuiting the entire process...

(Thank goodness it's getting near the end of the Month; I'm about out of "Stupid Question" vouchers!)
