Don't think either of those will work. They are made to go on a ball that is on the end of a bar. The RT hitche balls, both BRP and after market, mount on a wide plate.Here are a couple of inexpensive real options instead of the "cute" ideas.

Obviously I didn't give credit to their flexibility, the key to fitting on the Spyder hitch.Either one will work just fine.
Don't be so quick to knock down a "good" idea!
