• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Question about Spyderfest?

I seen that this is a week long event and with my work there is no way I could make it. But the weekend now looks open so my question is would it be worth it to come out for just a Saturday and return home on sunday? Worried about lodging and other things.

the problem with showing up for one day is you will probably cry when you have to leave early. :roflblack::roflblack:

You can't explain the marvelous sense of camaraderie... until you've been a part of it!
If you show up on Saturday, and head out on Sunday; you'll have missed an awful lot of chances to meet all of your new best friends.

Plus you would not have time to add all those Modes to your Spyder that the vendors will have.

My wife and I went to the one in Cuba a few years ago for one day....It was enough for us to go to the Saturday lunch, watch the drag races on the frontage road,go to the group dinner and then go on the town tour to look at the murals lit up at night...It was enough to convince us never to miss it..Since then while we haven't been able to go for the whole week,we made sure at least Friday to Sunday...This year it will be the full week..Rain or shine!

Here is another member that would like to go. I even looked up the mileage--4032 or so miles one way--so a bit over 8000 miles for me--but it would be a great ryde if I had the time to spend on a trip like that. I am guessing I would need a month to combine the fest and the travel these days. It won't happen this year though--I am booked for more accounting classes at the university. :sour:

Totally agree with Flamingobabe

No, No.....you need to go and enjoy all that you can....go to Spyderfest

I travel 2100 miles to get to SF.....if I could only get three hours of participation I would still do it. Nothing to compare it to it is just awesome and the amazing people make it a must do event. So one day do it.

It will be the best 1200 mile hamburger you've ever had. The trip there and the run back is 1/2 the adventure of Spyderfest.
