• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Purchasing a Spyder

Hi there, new to the forum, read through a few pages and have a question. I am looking at a purchasing a 2016 RT-S SE6. What are the things I should look for when going over it and test driving it?

Thanks

kind of like any used vehicle. I will assume you have purchased something with wheels in the past. Service history is nice, look at the tires for uneven wear, etc.
Look at cleanliness of fluids. Brake, antifreeze, oil.. Check for unusually high miles on the odometer. Look underneath for any possible leaks.
I would look at the cleanliness of the machine as a whole. Is the windshield pitted up? How is the paint? Do all the lights work as they should?
Now the cosmetic stuff, only you can decide what you can tolerate. Does it have a nice firm brake pedal? How does the engine start and idle?
Any strange noises? Can you test drive? If you have never driven a Spyder, probably not the best idea, except at a dealership where they have proper insurance.
So, that is just a start, you can be as picky or as easy as you want. There are so many things you can criticize, on ANY used vehicle.
Good luck, chances are good that it will be just fine

Well....

If you can get the vin# you can check to see if the unit is up to date and has been serviced (unless they did their own work). Have them show you all the features and see that they all work. The walk about to see the condition is the norm, tires, seats, body parts and finish etc. Test ryde as mentioned above is if you know what to look for otherwise perhaps a fellow ryder goes with you. Good luck hope it is the one....

Make sure front tire pressures are the same....around 17-18 and the rear 28-30. Uneven pressures in front will give you a bad ride. Good luck.
