• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Purchased replacement key loses authentication code . . .

The back-up key that was purchased at the dealership, and encoded by them, has twice lost the code. Anyone else have this problem? Is it better to order an encoded key directly from BRP, and is this even possible? Nothing quite like getting ready to ride and seeing that error message. :sour:

Interesting. ...

Most problems have been with the DESS module and not the key. These are not battery maintained keys and once programed hard to figure they would loose their memory. I ordered keys on line for the aprilla motorcyle and cloned them and never had a problem. I would have them check the ignition and dess...

What Spyder do you have?

If it was a DESS problem: he'd have a different error message popping up on the screen.
The profile says that he's got a 2013, so he could simply purchase a chipped replacement key from any reliable source, and have it cloned.

There has to be some miscommunication here or the dealer does not understand how it works. On 2013 and earlier models. A BRP key blank is coded from the factory and is fixed and cannot be changed. It will not likely lose it's code. If it did the key is junk and cannot be fixed by the dealer. When key programming is done. That is just telling the DESS module to accept key code from that new key. No changes are made to key code ever.

From your description. My best guess is that the signal from your new spare is weak and not always detected. Tell the dealer to get you a new key.
