• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Pulled the trigger

Stopped by the dealership yesterday with a friend who was looking at a new Goldwing. While he was looking around I checked out the new floorboards on the 2013 RT and fell in love. So I did the only thing I could do. I pulled the trigger on the Visa Card and ordered them for my 2011 RT LTD. Should be here in a week and ready for my big trip up to Montana, Idaho, Washington and Oregon. Pricey but worth it. Anyone else done this yet???

Won't fit?

I was told by the salesman at my dealer that they wouldn't fit anything but the 2013 models. Be sure and let us know what happens.

Don't use them..!!

but also heard they don't fit all models. Will wait and see how it works out for you with my fingers crossed..!!

From page 46 of the current accessories catalog.

Price is 999.99. Says for Spyder RT and RT-S 2013 SE5. No mention made that they fit previous models.

:popcorn::popcorn:

I mean really $1,000 for floorboards? I know they look pretty nice but there are so many choices out there, Seals, Rivco, etc. I guess if you bought a 2013 and they come with them it's one thing.

I have a set being install on my 2012 RT this week.
One thing I noted is that the accessories catalog only shows the floorboards in chrome.
You may find that would need or want to change the foot peg support casting and passenger foot boards if you currently don't have these in chrome.

floorboards

I saw a bunch of floor boards at the owners fest in Maggie Vlly . I guess I just love the looks but hate the price I went to a steel Business and bought some 1/4" shiny aluminum Diamond Plate for $12 bucks and some block Aluminum cut to shape ,took it to a welder and had the plate welded . Cost $30 bucks drilled and taped for the screws that hold the rubber on the pegs. Does it look like it came out of the factory Welllllll It is functional .:yikes:

Just Out

They told me the same thing 3 months ago but the sales manager came over while I was drooling over them on Monday and told me that they just came out last month with a conversion kit. They had already done a 2012. Have to replace the braking mech. also which is $135 on top of the floorboard kit. I'm just glad they did. I love those new floorboards.

I was told by the salesman at my dealer that they wouldn't fit anything but the 2013 models. Be sure and let us know what happens.

Oh, oh

I was at my dealer and test road the 2013RT and loved the floorboards and wanted a set. At that time I was told to wait a bit and that new floorboards will be coming out in a couple or so months that will fit my 2012. For about $240.00. I saw the picture. They are a bit shorter then the stock ones on the '13. But, like I said it may be a litttle while before they are out. There is no way I will spend $1000.00 for the current offerings from BRP....if they even fit. I did look at the Seals, but don't care for the looks. I know.....comfort or looks. ;)

Now, for the test ride...all I can say is WOW. I could feel a definate difference in the handling that is for sure. Before I drop the money, he suggested I set my shocks a bit tighter up to #4 to see if I like it that way. I ride solo and they were set at #3. Then, if I do we can talk shocks and antisway bar......cheaper then a 2013:). I rode it home and felt the difference on the curves, but it seemed to ride a little rougher. Does that sound normal?

I looked on BRP's website, but saw nothing about upcoming accessories..........

Oh, and I bought the Ultimate Seat. Now THAT has made a huge difference. I have put 400 miles on it and I don't get off rubbing my fanny and grimacing anymore.

I'll let you all know how it works out. The price of my comfort is worth it.
:agree: I can't wait to hear about the installation, AND see some pictures!

I don't recall anybody else in here with a pre-2013 bike doing this; you might be the TrailBlazer!

Hmmmmmm.... So would the new brake pedal give you the breakaway safety feature?
4_12_12.gif

What is this new brakeaway feature that you are referring to?

On the 2013s with the OEM footboards, the right footboard will break away (drop down in front) if you hit the brake hard enough so your foot presses on the footboard. It can be readily snapped back into place.
