Pull Back Bars, GPS Mount, XM Mount, Cup Holder..........................

To anybody.....

I have my Spyder on order, but I want to accumulate items before she arrives. I like the pull-back idea with or without the ignition mount. I'm sure by July, we'll see a nice finished product there. But the handlebars appear to be an ATV stock item. Does anybody know the style/part number for the bars? Also, were the bars mounted on the BRP riser block?

I bought those bars at my local Can-Am dealer, they are ATV bars like you said, unfortunately, I don't have the part number handy. The idea of the new center cover was to allow use of any 7/8 diameter bar you like, and to provide the gizmo mounts. I personally don't care for the bars on my Spyder at the moment, but my wife likes the seating position, and she rides the Spyder when we ride together. Kewlmetal will be making some custom bars for this setup. I currently do NOT have the BRP riser installed.

Getting ready to test a Spyder and was wondering about sound system that could be put on the bike?
Also has anyone thought about a CB unit for the bike? Ya I know buy a Venture, it has it all, but I now
need three wheels and not really interested in the traditional trike.

Check out J & M audio for motorcycles, they have a CB unit for the Spyder all set up already, it is a bit pricey. We have the J & M Integratr with the headsets installed in our helmets.

Is there any way to get a video or sound bite of this exhaust? It looks like it's just a straight pipe without a baffle and would be really loud.

This Exhaust does have a baffle. It is fairley loud when you get into it, but it quiets down nicely when putting around town. It sounds awesome!!!! Check out the sound bites:

Here it is in black with the GPS mounted center and the cup holder on the right. It looks like we are going to be making some changes to re-style the center piece to spruce it up a bit. A little wider base to cover up the bars a bit more, and an inlayed and backlit spyder web in the front, and a more attrictive shape is all in the works...

Is there any update on this mod? At 5' tall, it is going to be a must for me. We are heading out to South Dakota on June 2 and I sure wish I already had the pull back bars.

I just released the updated prints to the shops. The first production run parts won't be ready for a few weeks. But the good news is, you can go ahead and install some taller bars now if you like. The new handle bar cover will simply provide a new mount for the ignition switch and clean it all up. I rode mine without a center cover for a while and it is not a problem. Just buy some 7/8 inch quad bars or dirt bike bars that have the rise and width you think you will like. The hard part of the install is removing the stock handlebar cover, and re-routing the cables, wires and clutch line. Once this is all done, and my new center cover is ready, it will bolt on in a few minutes and re-mount the ignition switch, and provide mount points for GPS mounts, cup holders, etc. The new cover has been re-designed to look better and there is also an option that will have an overlay with a yellow (for silver or red) Spider on it. There will also be a version that will back light the spyder with LED's. Here is a pic of the new center cover:

The Bars I used are Can Am quad bars, they are 30 inches wide, have a 5 inch rise and a 3 inch pull back (approx). Any brand of ATV bars will work. Remember, you can get quite a bit of fore and aft adjustment by just rotating the bars in the riser and clamping them down exactly where you want them. That is part of the beauty of going to bars with a 5 inch rise. All the stock cables and wires worked, BUT, you do have to do some re-routing including dis-connecting the clutch line, re-routing it and bleeding the clutch. You also have to snip the wire ties at the front of the frame to get enough wire length. This requires taking the instrument housing off completely.

We just put pull back bars on my Spyder like Matt suggested. They are wonderful!! I am 4'10" and can now sit upright. All the weight is off my arms and hands now and my ride is a lot more comfortable! It was a job - thanks to husband Jim. You have to take the whole front end apart. The wires and cables are JUST long enough if you re-rout them. Winnie
