• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Proper Tire Pressure???

I have a RT SE5 and tag on side of belt states 15 plus/minus 2 front and 28 plus/minus 2 in rear.
I do not recommend running less than 15 up front. The sidewall states a 15 psi minimum. That is seldom done unless there are safety consideraions from dropping lower. Most riders find the handling better with slightly more air up front. Around 20 seems to work well on the RS, and 17-20 on the RT. Try more than 15 up front some time, you'll probably like what you find.
 
I am running with 20/30 and find that to be fine. However the real difficulty lies with getting any measurement or refill on the rear tire of my RT because of the stem placement. I have a compressor that I can use to fill the front tires but not the rear one! The stem points so that you have to reach through the belt drive wheel just to get to it, if you go to the other side the stem will be pointing away so not easy to get to at all!

Others with same experience? Any ideas?
 
Different pressures for solo vs 2-up? Street vs canyon carving?

Having browsed this thread, and settled at the "standard recommendation" of 18/28 f/r as a baseline for my RS. What is the adjustments for riding solo vs 2-up & loaded down? Also, regular commuting vs spirited canyon carving? On my bikes I generally turn up the preload and add some air for loaded touring, and drop several psi when running track days. Does the Spyder react similarly to tire pressures?

I've been looking at that and thinking on my next tire service, I will replace that valve stem with the right-angled stems you find on BMWs and Ducatis. Only I will point it towards the brake side and not the belt side.

Tire pressure is not normally changed on the Spyder. The wider, flat tires are not as sensitive to the extra load as motorcycle tires can be. BRP does not specify different pressures for carrying a passenger.
 
18 front 27 rear

First thanks to all who have been so encouraging regarding my "turning" issues. Many wonderful suggestions.
On to tire pressure......for their convenience, my dealership sets all three tires to 20psi. I am wondering what the experienced Spyder RT riders are doing.

I am looking for better turning, tire life, better mpg......

I use 18 psi in the front tires and 27 psi in the rear. I also use nitrogen to keep tires cooler and reduce leaks (nitrogen molecules are larger). My rear valve stem is no problem. I just go through one of the sprocket openings on the left side.

Isn't air around 80% nitrogen anyway?
