• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Problem with feral cats

The mousetrap idea worked for me when one of the neighborhood ferals decided that the top of my Jeep made a great king-size katty bed. Kept it up for a couple of weeks and he never came back.

Place dog poop around the bike, cats avoid it thinking there are dogs nearby. Get poop from different dogs so they'll think there are many.

This one is easy!!! Just place a whole cucumber on the seat. They are scared to death of cucumbers!

But I thought they were only scared of them if the cucumber snuck up behind them while the cats were eating/drinking?? :dontknow:

I've never seen a cat bothered by a cucumber at any other time?! :p There again, I've only ever seen cats being scared of cucumbers on youtube vids, so maybe those cats weren't scared by the cucumbers at all... but were actually scared/reacting to the air horn blast that the vid creators simply edited out their clips?!? :dontknow:

I think cobweb's link really says it all.... even down to recognising that the mess caused by using that method to 'scare cats' (and wake up everybody for two blocks around) being messier than the cat wee in the first place!! :roflblack:

Go onnnn!! Do It! You know you want to!

I have 5 cats that live in the barn with my RT. Had the same problem until I bought the full travel/towage cover. It fits tightly. They gave up trying to get to the seat.

Thanks everyone for all the advice. So far I’ve tried the tight fitting covers, also sprinkled pepper on the seats, ammonia, lemon juice seem to have no effect.

You can go to an Agway, or other such garden supply center and buy concentrated Wolf Urine. Sprinkle it about the ground by your Spyders. That will probably keep them away.

Every winter since the late 1950s when I store any motorcycle and cover it up I put a bar of Irish Spring soap on top of the box it came in and place it underneath the motorcycle or in this case the trike. It keeps all sorts of critters away. I’ve never had any problem with nesting mice or anything else it with you on the wiring. I’ll bet it’ll work on your cats. Good luck

Also could try sonic electronic pest repellent. Providing other enticing places to perch probably better long term solution. They can get to point of ignoring/tolerate sound & smells, they have somewhere better however does last little longer(always looking)

Had this problem for ages and tried many, many different deterrents suggested by others. Finally landed on citronella oil. squirt it around the spyders, on the ground. We only had to do it once and have been cat free for over a month now. Citronella it is !

I've had the neighbor's cats get in my garage and mess in places I have difficulty cleaning. The dam felines left claw marks on my Harley's seat and leather saddlebags. You don't always know when you've locked a cat in your garage when you close it up at night. Told the neighbors to keep their cats at home and away from my house because the next time I catch one or both of them in my garage, they won't be going home. Caught them again in the garage and one got away and the other one went to the Humane Society via a cat trap cage. I don't know if the owner ever went to recover their cat but I've never seen either one of those cats again. Never talked to the neighbor again, but I still plow the county's snowplow berm from their driveway along with other driveways.
