• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Problem wiring USB from Front Trunk Outlet connector

First I am a novice when it comes to electrical stuff on the Spyder.

I have a 2015 RTS. I am trying to wire a USB outlet on my dash. I pulled wires from the location for the optional Front Trunk outlet connectors that are provided by pulling the cover off and fishing the two provide connectors out of the protective boot. I routed these to the USB connector. I feel confidant I maintained + and - from the connectors to the USB switch but I am not getting any power.

Are the two connectors that are provided in the front trunk for the optional outlet already "hot" when the Spyder is on. I know you can switch fuse 6-7 to be hot at all times (7) to switched (6). I want this switched so I have the fuse in location 6. I have tried with the Sypder running and off and it makes no difference.

I will be checking the applicable fuses tomorrow and might end up buying a cheap Volt Meter to check to see if the Front Trunk connectors are getting power before running to the USB switch. I will also check all connections I made to be sure Something is not loose.
I just want to confirm there is not some other thing I need to do.

ISSUE

I think you got it all together. A volt/ohm meter is a good tool and eliminate any guesses. Good luck
.:agree:..................A simple and in-expensive ( low voltage ) tester will work fine for what you want........The volt/ohm meter will do lots more , but for more money.......Mike
