Has anyone purchased a prepaid maintenance plan? I did and think there's going to be a problem....!!!! I'm in my 2nd year of owning a Spyder and the Maintenance Plan($1,199) includes: 6 services in 3 years. I recently brought it in for some warranty issues(took 3 weeks to do) and told them while it was there to do the 2 year service that is specified in the manual. It is for 12,000miles OR 2 years. I did not have 12,000 miles but was going into(technically about 4 weeks) the 2nd year. I noticed at home when reviewing the work order that the only parts that was listed was for the oil change and the charge for labor. For the 2 year service there are about 6-7 things to be changed parts wise not including the parts for the oil change. The Servie Manager said that their Maintence Plan price goes by the mileage and not by the time period...I told him that I was never told that when I purchased it and for him to find out where this is written with my signature. That facts are if I paid for a maintenance service to be done it should be done according to the BRP'ss specs as in the Manual and the Manual states mileage OR YEARS. Also listed on the workorder that the 2 year service was done(but parts not changed). What's your thoughts? Manager is going to get with me on this.....
UPdate: Just found my contract and DOES say the maintenance will be performed at the time/mileage intervals following the manufacturer's manitenance schedule... Called back the dealer but he still did not have time to find my contract but told him he was wrong when he said it only went by the mileage. He didn't seem too happy but he still wanted to find the contract for himself. I was pretty upset with his attitude about this matter and told him he should really be up to date on these issues and KNOW the facts before. He did not even offer an appology and said he will get back with me when he finds my contract. Wondering how many other people they ripped off!!!!
