• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

OK, what kind of camera do you use on your trips?? I take a good pocket (still) camera and have a video camera mounted on the RT.

My P&S camera is a Canon 10MP, that has held me in good stead and 10's of thousands of miles well. I carry multiple batteries and memory cards, and can get 1,000+ pics on both batteries (depending on flash usage). I don't want a better/newer P&S camera, as strange things happen on the road, and I can still get a direct replacement on fleabay for under $25...

My video camera is new to me, and is a slick HD billet waterproof video camera, that set me back $60. It came with 2 rechargeable batteries, and has both mini-USB and HDMI I/O ports. Those let me use my iPad to set the angles for mounting the camera in real time, without wasting space on the memory cards. I get 2hrs of video on a single battery charge, and it takes 30 seconds to change the battery. All 4 hours of video will reside on a single micro card, which I download to my iPad nightly (& carry several cards). This unit looks like a flashlight, so it is usually ignored by those looking at the RT.

This video camera replaced the $9 micro HD camera I was using on my RT until last year. That camera is resting on the side of one of last years tour roads... well, I wanted to upgrade anyway.
