• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Pre-paid service

Hey guys,

So the guy I bought my 2014 rt limited had purchased 4 pre-paid services with the bike. He checked with his dealer in Marietta and they said it was transferable for a $50 fee. My question is, has anyone else done a transfer? I'm kinda thinking the new dealer that I choose is not gonna like it. What do you guys think?

i have one for my car that is as long as i own the car. but the dealer that sold the pre paid might only honor it

That was my thinking. The dealer that sold it said it would transfer but the dealer I choose in alabama might say different.

Given the importance of proper servicing: I'd only have it serviced by a dealer that I know and trust. nojoke

well, that's another problem. I don't know any of the dealers in alabama. I've been looking for suggestions on this forum but so far, I haven't seen a favorable report on any of them. I wish someone from Alabama would chime in with a recommendation.

It would be worth checking it out. I had one with a dealer in Georgia once. It wasn't transferable, but they definitely lost money on me because it was unlimited. A couple of things to think about:

1. Is there a time frame that the four services need to be done in, and do they have to be done sequentially?

2. Is it transferable to another dealer or not.

If it is not limited by a time that would make it difficult for you to get four services done, 50 dollars is a steal if you are not paying the previous owner an arm and leg for that option. Suppose that you have to go back to Marietta for the service, in that case I would do low cost services with my local dealer, and go back to Marietta for the high cost ones until the four services are done.

Almost all service agreements are with the dealer who sold the agreement. Unlike warranties service agreements only cover service at that dealer. I think the Marietta CanAm dealer also owns Lithonia Springs, Conyers and Lawrenceville locations but even those shops may not honor a service deal with another ship.

Let us know what you find out. As mentioned above, pre-paid service arrangements are usually with the selling dealer only and not transferable to other dealerships. There is nothing in it for them because the selling dealer got all the benefits (cash).

The only exception would be a multi location dealership--but even then, they may not want to transfer to another location. Once again, they already got the money.

WOW! I bet you bought that beautiful white RTL from here in Marietta, with the front brake. If so, congratulations.

I bought my 2014 RTS where the original owner had a prepaid plan in Henderson, NC. I called his dealer and was told the plan did not transfer. I took that to mean no xfer between owners, but it could be between dealers? Guess I might call again and see.

Originally looking for a new Spyder, I checked several dealers that I located on the internet, and was very impressed with a salesman named Donnie in Hamilton, which can't be too far from you. He was very helpful and very low pressure. I have wondered if their service folks are like that. Here's their link - maybe someone on SL has experience with them.

thanks bill, I just emailed the dealer in Hamilton. I will let you guys know the final answer

I can't speak for Motorsports Superstores' service, but their no pressure sales staff is top notch.
got my 15 RTS there.

What I found out was, prepaid service will transfer to new owner but not to a different shop. So I would have to take it back to mountain motorsports.
