• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Power pack recommendations?

I'm already working my Christmas list with wishes aligned with stuff for a long Spyder camping trip next spring. I've been looking at those power packs that can be used for a car jump or to power electronics. I have my cell phone and laptop that I want to use along the way.

Can I recharge the from the Spyder during my riding time?

Which brand of power pack do you recommend?

I leave my iPhone in the trunk connected to the audio in jack and it's always charged (don't use it on the road anyway unless it's the war department calling and I can answer through the GPS) and get my sounds through the GPS MP3. Unless you're back country camping most sites will have a place to charge a laptop. You could also charge it through the 12V outlet in the trunk but that might be a PITA depending on the size of the laptop which, IMO, moves a tablet to the top of the list if you have to travel with a computer. On transcontinental bicycle tours I relied on public libraries for computers; another opportunity to meet locals. YMMV.

I use this one (http://www.motocrossgiant.com/Lil_Lightning_Rescue_Pak_Ultra_Slim_Battery_p/12-6800.htm). You can recharge the pak while you are riding, it has a cig plug style plug in. We didn't have this last year when we were on our round the states trip. Whenever we encountered a camp ground with no electricity it became a real pain with trying to recharge electronics the next day. We did have a splitter we used in the trunk that helped a bit. Could have used a cig plug adapter plugged into the tender lead in the frunk, but we had that filled with our kitchen equipment.

Good to have along...

I carry antigravity unit all the time. Not only for me but others along the way as well. takes up little space and does an amazing job...:2thumbs:
