• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

POTHOLES!

After my Spyder comes out of hibernation, and I'm afraid that won't be any time soon as we're expecting up to 8" of snow tonight, I don't know if i can get a mile from house before bending a rim on a pothole! They're unbelievable!! Too numerous to miss! What a winter this has been!

And to think we complain about the condition of our road surfaces in the West. Got to hand it to you folks.

Hope the worst part of your winter ends with the upcoming snow nojoke

Hi John,
About the best that you can do ...
...Is aim to put the inside edge of a front wheel JUST to the very outside edge of the crater... and hope that the back wheel misses! :yikes:
And slow way down; of course! :D

It's not going to be fun! If the potholes don't get you, the frost heaves will. I have never seen it this bad! .....and we aren't even actually into pothole season yet. When it thaws we will be lucky if there is any road left at all.

There's got to be some genius out there that can devise some kind of terrain mapping navigation thingofmagig. Let it spot the pot holes before the bike does kind of like my SUV's forward collision warning system. :gaah:

:lecturef_smilie: That's why you must slow down... nojoke

.....or just buy the hovercraft conversion kit. :roflblack:

And with the potholes comes all the rubble scattered on the road that came out of the hole. Soon followed by loose patch material after road repairs. It's going to be a jungle out there.
Still, better than sitting here at the computer.

Pothole Capital

I definitely feel your pain!

In 2013, Transportation Services spent $7 million and applied almost 15,000 tonnes of material on 750,000 potholes throughout the city of Edmonton, enough to pave seven kilometres of a four-lane roadway.
